Sr. Project Engineer - MLE Crop Processing Combine Harvesters Job

JOB SUMMARY

 

This position reports to the Engineering Director Gold Harvesting Breganze and will serve in a team of engineers responsible for Combines Mechanical development at AGCO's  Breganze (Italy) Site and among all Combine Harvesters sites.
This position leads and is responsible for the design of Crop Processing (Processor and Cleaning Systems) for combine harvesters. The person will be responsible globally for the module development with the technical team and cross functional teams (Manufacturing, Purchasing, Quality etc).
The job holder leads and coordinates global module teams, requiring strong leadership skills and the ability to manage in a matrix organization. Depending on the module and vehicle development structure the job holder will lead a local, regional or global team.
The job holder is closely involved in planning and sign-off for module specific budget. Leadership skills are required for this position, leading the engineering team delivering the Processor and Cleaning System designs.
Teamwork skills are required as the employee will be working in teams internal at the site and across to other AGCO sites.

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

 

- Leads/coordinates module development activities, drives module-specific innovation, ensures best cost together with Purchasing and Manufacturing counterpart
- Design in Creo 3D CAD system, especially sheet metal design and Mechanisms
- Good understanding of "Top Down Design" systematic and the use of "Skeletons" in 3D design
- Drive the ECN (Engineering Change Notice) release processes
- Good skills in working with one or more ERPs systems (i.e SAP, BAAN, JDE)
- Engineering calculations for structure, drives, mass flow etc
- DFMEA (Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis)
- LRM (Life Reliability Management)
- CFD and DEM analysis
- Develop special knowledge in especially crop flow from the threshing, separating, cleaning and residue management
- Project planning according to AGCO's procedures called AMPIP
- Collaboration across to other AGCO sites for engineering, manufacturing, quality, purchasing
- Test of concepts, in mock-ups, prototypes
- Participate in testing of combine harvesters in the field
- Reporting of test results
- Participate in meetings for planning, idea generation, design review
- Future optimization of Processor and Cleaning Systems with respect to cost, performance, weight and durability
- Owns module book, evaluates change requests, conducts updates if required

 

QUALIFICATIONS

 

The job holder will have the following minimal and preferred qualifications:
- Bachelor degree in Mechanical or Agricultural Engineering
- +5 years of professional experience with mechanical design for agricultural machinery
- Some practical experience with combine harvesters or other agricultural machinery either as driver or repairman
- Skilled technician / repairman of agricultural machinery or a background in the agriculture ("grew up on a farm")
- Excellent English language and writing ability
- Proffeciency on Creo, MS Package etc

- travel required 20%
