The Product Performance Specialist (PPS) - Field Support, Combines is the field representative for AGCO's Technical Service and Support group. This position will focus on field support of the IDEAL combine. The primary function of the PPS will be to ensure uptime of assigned combine(s). If a failure occurs, the PPS will be responsible for all aspects of the repair and doing everything possible to minimize downtime.


Additionally, combine performance, monitoring of settings and losses, and harvest optimization will be the responsibility of the PPS. It will be necessary to optimize combine settings in all crop conditions and serve as a primary source of information regarding harvest performance.


Another key responsibility of the PPS will be reporting on both reliability and performance of the machine. Regular reports will be required documenting root cause of failure, as well as recommended solutions. Performance reports will contain detailed information on machine settings, crop conditions, losses, capacity, and sample quality.


The PPS will follow their assigned machines during much of the harvest across the US and Canada. Estimated travel is 50-60%.

What You Will Do:

  • Troubleshooting, resolving and reporting complaints on all combine systems
    • Determining root cause of failure
    • Procuring the required parts
    • Repairing machine as needed
    • Developing proposed solutions for repeat failures
    • Coordinating with local AGCO dealers when major service support is required.
    • Creating regular reports with all failures and findings
  • Combine Performance
    • Optimizing machine settings in all crop conditions
    • Determining loss rates and sample quality
    • Creating detailed performance reports

What You Will Bring:

  • Degree in an Engineering, Technology or Agricultural Sciences discipline or equivalent experience
  • Thoroughly familiar with applied hydraulics, engines, drivetrains, electrical systems, electronics, and air conditioning systems
  • Excellent technical skills including problem solving and troubleshooting
  • Understands GPS technology; experience with precision farming products preferred
  • Experience with AGCO or competitive combines preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Reliable and able to work remotely, with minimal support
