JOB SUMMARY

Support changes to new and current products within component manufacturing to drive cost reduction, quality and safety improvements, and to enhance workflow.  Results to be achieved through application of lean principles, sound manufacturing processes, product knowledge, and good understanding of quality control fundamentals

 

DUTIES

  • Actively participates in Lean Daily Management System (LDMS) meetings for areas assigned
  • Provides input from component manufacturing group for design reviews in areas assigned
  • Communicates requirements for new or changing parts to other component manufacturing ME teams     Update and maintain periodic reporting tools for NPI and current product improvement projects    Participate and/or lead events/activities to drive improvements.
  • CR/NGIT/AMEN from inception through completion
  • Performs troubleshooting for systems, components, end-products, processes, and procedures related to component mfg.
  • Assists in the design and development of production processes to ensure quality and cost reduction
  • Must be flexible to work any shift or hours required to support manufacturing 
  • Performs other related duties to which assigned
     

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must have working knowledge of manufacturing bills, routings, inventory management, and scheduling/planning processes
  • Must be familiar with various vehicle systems such as electronics, hydraulics, pneumatics, CAN protocol, etc.
  • Must have thorough understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
  • Must be familiar with weld and machining blueprints
  • Must understand product flow through manufacturing quality processes
  • Must have solid product modeling experience (Creo, TeamCenter, Inventor)
  • Must have experience with in-process inspection in a manufacturing environment
  • Must have a fundamental understanding of component manufacturing tooling (weld fixtures, cutting tooling, bending tooling, etc.)
     

EXPERIENCE

  • Experience in, or high levels of exposure to fabrication and/or welding processes and equipment (MIG welding, weld robotics, saw, mill, lathe, bending equipment)
  • Must have experience in troubleshooting various vehicle systems such as electrical, hydraulic, pneumatics to include control modules, CAN protocol, wiring, routing, etc.
  • Must have experience in root-cause analysis, development of possible solutions, and issue resolution  practices
  • Proficient using Microsoft Windows programs (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word)

  • Must be able to communicate in an effective, professional manner to facilitate teamwork across diverse manufacturing teams
  • Must be a team-player with the ability to train others, and provide leadership for change and improvement
  • Ability to demonstrate a positive work attitude
  • Must possess good verbal communication and problem solving skills
