Commodity Buyer - Engineering/Manufacturing

Location: Gebze, Istanbul

Function:                 Purchasing

Reports to:              Manager BCC Turkey

Who We Are Looking For
 

The Buyer will be responsible for establishing pricing and ensuring the supply base for NPI and & re-sourcing Projects of BCC Turkey. The Buyer will have full responsibility for his/her project and will report to the Purchasing Manager/BCC Turkey. Within the context of the supply, in alignment with global commodity strategies, the Buyer will work to drive the following objectives:

• Optimize costs while meeting Engineering and Product Management specifications/requirements.
• Ensure consistent supply to AGCO operations.
• Support the Supplier Development programs to create savings value from incumbents and to identify and establish alternate suppliers.
• Track and manage compliance and focus on cost savings.
• Working with Product Management and Engineering with the New Product Introduction process where applicable in Turkey
• Responsible for establishing supplier contracts
   
   

What You Will Do
 

• Successfully selecting suppliers to provide AGCO with cost optimized for NPI & Re-sourcing Projects in BCC Turkey.
• Test pricing in the supply market and improve best cost contracts (TCO)
• Support the Supplier Development processes (on-site supplier assessment / certification audits and continuous improvement activities)
• Investigate and inform BCC Purchasing Manager the new and/or alternate sources of supply as necessary to support new product development cost reduction requirements, and/or supplier performance issues.
• Provide market information and suppliers date to GCM for develop and execution of the commodity strategy.
• Assist BCC Purchasing Manager in the development and execution of long-term supply strategy, pricing analyses, negotiations and long-term contract establishment including LTA.
• Develop SIG program with Turkey supplier base.
• Identify and develop suppliers in Turkey consistent with our Global Commodities Manager.
• Ensure that prices are adjusted based on raw material and forex fluctuations.
• Update various Dashboards.

What You Will Bring
 

• Graduate, Undergraduate Level of Education on Mechanical or Metallurgy Engineering or Industrial Engineering essential
• Ideally 2-3 years of experience in a purchasing and/or purchasing-related role; preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft office suite software including Excel, Word and PowerPoint; MS Project experience is beneficial.
• English fluency and relevant regional language
