Agronomy Internship


Precision Planting is passionate about using science and technology to improve agriculture. The Precision Planting team develops innovative products that improve the lives of growers and make agriculture more sustainable, efficient, and profitable.  The Precision Planting Agronomy Intern will receive hands-on experience in many different business areas based in Tremont, Illinois. This paid internship will focus on conducting field-based product trials as well as agronomic research.  In addition, the individual will be exposed to various aspects of service, support, training, and dealership experience in working with a leading precision agriculture company.

The Internship may include the following:


  • Participate in supporting, conducting, and executing field-based product trials

  • Assist growers and dealers with the installation of field trial equipment

  • Assist growers and dealers and ensure field trials are planted correctly 

  • Record and gather planting observations

  • Participate in capturing field observations throughout the growing season

  • Assist with field trial harvest operations

  • Assist with compiling and analyzing trial data


Required Skills/Experience


  • Enrollment in college (Crop Sciences, Ag Business, Technical Systems Management or related)

  • Cumulative GPA of at least 3.0/4.0

  • Comfortable operating/learning to operate agriculture equipment

  • Interest in exploring a career in Agriculture

  • Detail and results-oriented with the ability to work independently

  • Excellent time management, organizational, and problem-solving skills

  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint.

  • Willingness to work outside and in the office

  • Personal Transportation

  • Willingness to relocate to the Peoria, IL area if necessary


Desired Skills/Experience


  • Prior farm experience or internship in a similar area

  • Willingness to travel if necessary for multiple days at a time
