The Opportunity


Precision Planting is a top tier provider of agriculture and agronomic technology in the Precision Ag Industry. We design innovative products that solve farmers most difficult challenges. We seek a highly self-motivated, creative sales professional to join our commercial team as Business Development Manager. This role will be instrumental in bringing an entirely new ecosystem of products to agriculture.    This person may live remotely and will travel extensively in the US.  This new role will be high self-directed, report to the senior commercial leader in the company, and work in partnership with a small team of marketing, technical support, and engineering to literally transform a large, underserved part of the agriculture space.


What You'll Do
The essential responsibilities for this role include:

  • Develop new customers for the new Radicle Agronomics® suite of products targeting crop production agronomists, crop consultants, and crop advisors across the US (Radicle Agronomics)
  • Co-lead all commercial thinking, development, and execution with Director of the Global Commercial Team
  • Attend agronomy conferences and trade events to promote Radicle Agronomics vision, message, and products
  • Proactively identify, pursue, and recruit new agronomist/advisor/consultant customers
  • Attain rapid market acceptance of these new products
  • Work closely with a select team of marketing, technical support, and engineering talent to define new products and product functionality to meet identified customer needs


What You'll Need
The core competencies and qualifications we're looking for include:

  • Bachelor’s degree or relevant experience
  • Ag literate
  • 5+ years’ successful selling experience of agriculture products or services
  • A proven track record of new product and/or new customer sale accomplishment
  • Comfortable selling products, intangibles, and services to new prospects in a developing market
  • Success in largely self-directed business development selling
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time as needed
  • Ability to create your own success in a highly collaborative team environment
