About the Role: 

The ideal candidate will be an experienced IT professional who is a self-starter, capable of working with limited supervision, has strong communication and troubleshooting skills, and a passion for information technology. 

 

This position requires leadership skills, teamwork and the ability to effectively communicate at all levels within the organization.  We offer a strongly supportive work environment dedicated to the success of our employees.  

 

This is a full-time position, with the expectation that the candidate will work out of the Tremont, IL or Bloomington, IL offices, with a hybrid and/or remote work schedule available.  Employees may need to travel between different facility locations: Tremont IL, Pontiac IL, Bloomington IL., Morton IL. 

 

  

What would I be doing? 

  • Day to day oversight and direction for all aspects of the desktop and end user experience; serve as point of escalation for service issue 

  • Direct all aspects of our hardware and software solutions 

  • Manage all desktop, printer, audio-visual, and mobile IT resources within the company 

  • Provide strategic direction key technologies used by end users 

  • Manage SLA with managed service providers, including monitoring of tickets, escalations, and prioritization of end user cases.  

  • Ensure timely response to customer support issues regardless of location, working hours, or role. 

  • Provide hardware and software training to both internal and external customers 

  • Ensure desktop support aligns with information security standards and company policy 

  • Manage and develop workflows for maximum efficiency 

  • Maintain strong documentation of systems and applications         

  

What must I have? 

  • 3-5 years of desktop support experience 

  • Demonstrated leadership skills 

  • Vendor management experience 

  • Strong troubleshooting skills 

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and common sense 

  • Demonstrable knowledge of network technologies and protocols (TCP/IP, Wi-Fi networking, DNS, DHCP, Radio communications, SMTP etc.) 

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications and the support of Office 365 

  • Experience supporting Microsoft Desktop 10/11, Windows Server 2016/2019, MacOS, and Linux     

 

What other specific skills & experiences would be good for me to have?  

  • Azure AD, AWS, M365, and Microsoft Endpoint Manager  

  • Scripting experience with PowerShell, SQL, and Python  

  • Active Directory including Group Policy management
