The Director, Government Affairs SA will lead AGCO's government relations strategy across the region, ensuring alignment with global objectives and compliance with local regulations. This role is responsible for building and maintaining relationships with government entities, regulatory agencies, and industry associations to advance AGCO's business interests and policy priorities. The position operates under the Legal umbrella but focuses on specialized government affairs activities.

Your Impact

  • Develop and execute regional government affairs strategies aligned with AGCO’s global objectives.
  • Monitor and analyze legislative, regulatory, and political developments impacting AGCO’s operations in South America.
  • Represent AGCO before government bodies, trade associations, and other stakeholders to influence policy and regulatory outcomes.
  • Provide strategic advice to senior leadership on political and regulatory risks and opportunities.
  • Coordinate advocacy efforts and ensure compliance with lobbying and reporting requirements.
  • Prepare reports and briefings on government affairs activities for internal stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with Legal, Compliance, and Business teams to ensure consistent messaging and adherence to applicable laws.

Your Qualifications and Experience 

  • Complete Bachelor’s degree in Law, Political Science, International Relations, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Several years of proven experience in government affairs (preferably 10+ years), public policy, or regulatory roles, ideally within multinational corporations or industry associations.
  • Strong knowledge of South American political and regulatory landscape.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work in a matrix organization and manage complex, multi-country initiatives.
  • Fluent in English (communication and writing) and Portuguese/Spanish.

This job position is based in Jundiai and the work format is Hybrid. The travels volume is around 50% of the time.
