Field Service Specialist Job

This is a remote position with a regional office in Assumption, Illinois.

 

Job Summary

The Field Service Specialist will be required to travel to customer job sites as scheduled to provide AP Dealerships support to troubleshoot and make necessary minor repairs if required on all AP branded equipment and product offerings.

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Interact daily with AP Dealers, Dealer Technicians, Contractors, Customers, and internal resources / departments to provide equipment troubleshooting and repair assistance.
  • Troubleshoot equipment mechanical, electrical, installation opportunities and communicate effectively with Leadership, Sales Team, Technical Service, internal customer service, and engineering to resolve reported equipment form, fit, and functionality opportunities.
  • Proficient problem solving abilities in order to identify root cause analysis and implement countermeasures to resolve equipment functionality opportunities.
  • Support the Technical Service team call center, Sioux City service center, Trade Shows, Dealer Training, and hours as scheduled to provide our Dealers efficient & effective equipment troubleshooting solutions. 

 

Qualifications and Experience

  • Preferred 2 year technical degree
  • Preferred 3-5 years of previous mechanical and electrical troubleshooting experience  
  • Ability to read wiring schematics
  • Proficient Microsoft Office
  • OSHA 30 Hour course certification
  • Excellent Verbal and written communication skills
  • Self-motivated and self-directed
  • Clean driving record and ability to obtain company vehicle usage authorization.

 

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no direct reports.

 

Safety Responsibilities

  • Report any unsafe practices and/or conditions to their supervisor.

  • Report all near-misses, incidents, injuries, illnesses, including mobile equipment or property damage.
  • Participation in the site Safety and Health Program.

 

Work Environment

The work environment will vary dependent on season, regional location, and equipment support needs.

  • Able to work in a wide range of climate conditions.

 

Physical Demands

Ability to lift 50 lbs.

Ability to climb 30’ plus if equipment installations require.

Stand for extended periods of time at job sites on hard surfaces

Work in and around livestock facilities

Work on equipment that is elevated, above shoulder height.

 

Travel

The position will require 75% travel
