This is a remote position with a regional office in Assumption, Illinois.

The Pricing Analyst is a key role in the Marketing Organization.  The Pricing Analyst will have interaction with the marketing and IT departments on a daily basis as they analyze, process, and document price and costs changes.  The Pricing Analyst is expected to become the expert in utilizing data to understand key areas for margin improvement.

The Pricing Analyst is expected to be the expert in data analysis within the organization.  This person should have sound technical understanding of analytics and utilize this to implement pricing strategies.  This position is responsible for creating and maintaining pricing databases.

 

The Pricing Analyst is responsible for providing relevant data to category managers in order to provide guidance on category improvements. The Pricing Analyst will report on the forecast accuracy, sales trends, and relative position as it relates to our goals. Reports may include but are not limited to, sales volume, price and cost history, quote activity and opportunity funnel. The Sr. Pricing Analyst is expected to understand potential opportunities within each category.

 

Job Responsibilities:

- Evaluate price change and deviation requests by calculating margin, reviewing sales and price history, while taking into account market and competitive information.  Make recommendations of what transactional price will win while maximizing margin.

- Work with category management to understand competitive landscape and current market conditions and consolidate and report to pricing and marketing leadership.
- Prepare sales and margin comparisons and build and maintain pricing database for use by product management, engineering, and marketing.
-  Distribute meaningful historical data to category managers to aid in preparing their monthly unit forecasts.  Collect and analyze forecasts to aid in demand planning decisions.
- Understand sales funnel that is included or excluded from each district manager's sales forecast and provide detailed sales reporting for each region.
- Assist the Pricing and Program Manager with data and analysis for forecasting purposes, identifying price opportunities, and competitive landscape.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

- A BS or BA degree in a quantitative discipline such as Economics, Finance, Marketing Research, Math, or Statistics, or proven relevant job experience
- 3-5 years business experience, preference in grain equipment industry
- Familiarity with basic principles of marketing
- Intermediate experience with Excel is required. SAP, Salesforce and Power BI a plus
