Job Title: Product Technician (Portable & Modular Dryers, Top Dry and Export Cans)

Job Summary

Responsible for testing & troubleshooting portable dryers using natural gas/LP gas and electricity (12v, 24v, 110v, 240v, 480v, 575v), installing transports and loading units for shipment.  Responsible for performing electronic, electrical, and mechanical tests on modular dryer power panels and control boxes to ensure units function according to specifications or to determine cause of unit failure using test instruments.  Must read and interpret dials, gauges, or digital displays that indicate electronic characteristics, such as voltage.  Must be able to read blueprints, wiring diagrams, a multi-meter, Amp meter, gas detector and have a basic understanding of electrical circuitry.  Other equipment includes hand grinder, cutting torch, lift table, pneumatic tools and tire changer.  Lockout/Tagout and 70E training required.  Position also requires a forklift certification.


Job Responsibilities

  • Follow required safety and work procedures.
  • Maintain/produce a level of output that will minimize production and delivery delays.
  • Clean and maintain an orderly work area to 5s standards.
  • Possess a basic understanding of electrical circuitry (110v, 240v, 380v, 480v, 575v).
  • Possess a basic knowledge of natural gas & LP gas.
  • Have ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams and schematics.
  • Have experience with testing instruments such as a multi-meter, Amp meter, gas detector, and vibration meter.
  • Perform material handling and utilize various equipment, including pallet jacks, jib crane, hand tools, etc.
  • Communicate effectively with other workers to direct workflow and improve quality.
  • Support implementing all aspects of AGCO Lean and Quality Management systems.
  • Assist other individuals in area when needed.
  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned.

 

 

Safety Responsibilities

  • Participate in the site Safety and Health Program.
  • Perform Lock Out/Tag Out.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.

 

Essential skills

Education

High school diploma or GED required.

 

Qualifications and Experience

  • Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to follow precise instructions.
  • Comprehension of wiring diagrams.
  • Ability to operate various shop tools, both power and manual.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with peers, managers and across departments.
  • Standing 8-12 hours per day.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Ability to read a tape measure.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to read, write and use basic math skills.

 

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

 

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee works with and near large machinery and equipment daily. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. The employee is exposed to a variety of extreme conditions including temperatures ranging from 40°F to 105°F. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles.

The physical demands here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential job functions of this job.

 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or craw and frequently required to use hands and fingers to handle or feel; and reach with hands or arms. The employee must be able to stand for up to twelve hours per day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

 

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

 

The employee must wear personal protective equipment (i.e. eye protection, respirator, hearing protection, safety shoes, gloves, sleeves, etc.)
