Grain and Protein Technologies is a global organization with nearly 4,000 employees who develop technological solutions for farmers. The North America team is currently looking for a Sr. Network Engineer for our IT team in our Assumption, IL, facility. This role is crucial in implementing, maintaining and monitoring the company's network infrastructure to ensure optimal performance and security. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills in network design, monitoring, configuration, and support, excellent problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to providing exceptional support.
Your Impact
- Monitor network performance and availability, as well as manage and maintain network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
- Configure and optimize network devices and provide technical support for network-related issues, including troubleshooting and resolving connectivity problems.
- Implement and maintain network security measures to protect against unauthorized access and cyber threats while ensuring compliance with industry standards
- Perform regular maintenance tasks, including firmware updates, patches, and backups, and plan and execute network upgrades and expansions to support business growth and technological advancements.
- Develop and maintain documentation for network configurations, standards, and procedures and provide training and support to IT teams and end-users on network-related topics.
Your Experience and Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent years of experience in lieu of degree
- At least 5 years of experience in network engineering, with a focus on network monitoring and support.
- Strong technical skills in managing and configuring network devices, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
- Experience in troubleshooting and resolving network issues.
- Relevant certifications such as Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), CCNP(Preferred), Fortinet/HPE support, CompTIA Network+, or equivalent are highly desirable.
Your Compensation and Benefits
Expected annual salary for this role will be $95,000 - $115,000, plus a 10% bonus target. This is dependent upon job related knowledge, experience, and skills.
