The AGCO Parts Division has an exciting opportunity for a high-impact Buyer to join its team in delivering extraordinary results at the Batavia, IL PDC. The Batavia PDC is the master distribution center for North America operating around the clock to serve internal and external customers on a global scale. This is a role with growth potential and developmental opportunities. In this position, you will drive the highest level of service and quality to our dealership network.
As a Buyer Parts Purchasing you will be responsible to support any actions in identifying and developing a strong and sustainable, best-fit supply base in alignment with global commodity strategies.
Your goals will include negotiating and maintaining an assigned supply base of internal and external suppliers; updating our SAP system with price information, country of origin data, vendor master data information, invoice handling and tracking, investigation of invoicing data errors, root causes and corrective actions within nominated commodity areas. Setting up sourcing for New Production Introduction (NPI) items. Updating sourcing rules and other system requirements to ensure a smooth ordering and receiving of items in the respective warehouses.
You will be working closely with the various Parts Purchasing teams in Europe, Turkey, India, China, North and South America. You will have ongoing cross-functional interaction with Finance, Supply Chain and other teams around the globe.
What you will do:
- Sourcing of items in the system and ensure sourcing rules allow correct allocation to our warehouses around the world
- Sending out requests for quotes
- Uploading price data
- Review invoice price discrepancies with suppliers and request, where appropriate credit notes to be applied
- System data maintenance like country of origin, supplier data, item attributes
- Price negotiations with suppliers
- Define and support sourcing strategies
- Pull, compile and analyze data from our systems
- Request additional information from suppliers (technical data, drawings, super-session, item breakdown and so on)
- Limited travel to supplier sites, AGCO production sites, and/or AGCO events
What you will bring:
- Desirable business experience of 1-3 years in a purchasing and/or purchasing-related role; preferably in a manufacturing environment
- Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft office suite software including Excel, Word and PowerPoint;
- Experience in usage of SAP/ERP systems
A plus if you have:
- Experience with MS Project
- Fluency with an additional language
- Ability to read technical drawings
