AGCO, a global leader in the design, manufacture and distribution of agricultural solutions, has an exciting career opportunity for an IT IoT Architect to join our team in Pune or Bengaluru, India. The Enterprise Architecture team at AGCO Corporation is looking for an experienced IT IoT Architect to join a diverse team dedicated to architecture, strategy and innovation. The IoT Architect will be responsible for aligning the future state enterprise and customer IoT architecture with the corporate strategy.
This role will collaborate with other Enterprise Architects, partners with Solution Architects and subject matter experts from cross-functional Business and IT areas.
What you will do
Summary
- The Enterprise IoT Architect is responsible for a leadership role in strategizing, design and oversee implementation of secure information technology architectures in Global Precision Agriculture and precision farming products and services, utilizing cutting edge technologies/tools. You are responsible for collaborating with AGCO Global IT department, and technical leads within Digital Offboard, to define and revise the end-to-end product solutions which fall under the Digital software portfolio (http://www.agcocorp.com/brands/fuse-technologies.html). You will be involved in both new Digital IoT product definition as well as existing product operation, modification, understanding customer or business requirements, ensuring alignment with technical plans and producing documented models of the components of each solution. You will also support research, analysis, and recommendation of new technologies, frameworks, and products to incorporate into the IoT software portfolio. A successful candidate must have multiple years of actual end-to-end design and implementation experience in the software industry.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Delivers guidelines, best practices, and direction on Digital IoT standards/policies and roadmaps. Provides subject matter expertise, consultation, and escalation support.
- Designs, architects, and assists with evaluating and implementing solutions related to cloud, manufacturing, software, enterprise applications, enterprise infrastructures, and AGCO products.
- As a key member of the architecture team, the candidate should be comfortable with driving technical ideas and communicating clearly with technical as well as non-technical audiences.
- Provides advice on project costs, design concepts, or design changes. Drives key decisions around how we secure the network, cloud solutions, applications within the organization and for the broader company.
- Create high-level design documents and detailed specifications, in accordance with company architecture standards. Creates new data models as well as improving existing databases and data flows.
- Responsible for overall Offboard long-term technical strategy & planning.
- Collaborates with others in cross functional teams to provision estimates, develop overall implementation plans, customization, and integration efforts in order to support asks from global teams;
- Analyzes existing systems to identify inefficiencies, redundancies, obsolescence and technology support gaps. Refines and expands the model as necessary.
What you will bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, - OR - equivalent work experience,
- Understanding of the system development lifecycle,
- Demonstrated expertise in:
- Familiar Technologies: AWS, Azure or Google Cloud; Python, Java, JavaScript; ReactJS, RxJS, NodeJS, Angular, Spring; Serverless, AWS Lambda, MQTT, Kafka, Kinesis & Flink, API, RESTful web services, GraphQL, SQL, NoSQL, HTML5/CSS
- Experience working in an Agile environment, specifically SAFe and Scrum,
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and written,
- Extreme accuracy in quality of work,
- Work independently,
- Must be able to multitask,
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work cross-functionally,
- Creates and documents architecture decisions, diagrams, design specifications, installation instructions, and other system-related information,
- Verifies stability, availability, inter-operability, portability, security, scalability, or other relevant architecture characteristics,
- Contributes to architecture governance for security activities throughout the enterprise,
- Be a thought leader, stay abreast of industry trends and share your expertise with an extended team.
- Functional experience with modern programming languages
- Deep understanding of programming concepts and patterns, especially focused on cloud based large scale systems, backend and frontend
- Functional experience with modern web development frameworks
- Functional experience analyzing, designing, and building large scale, cloud based IoT systems
- History of defining, implementing and governing department level development standards and processes
- History of succeeding within an Agile environment, SCRUM and SAFe experience preferred
- Strong history and ability to mentor development teams
- History and ability to perform a leadership role in a large global organization, including: influencing large diverse groups of people, strong communications skills across all levels of organization, ability to work with limited oversight to accomplish complex goals
- History of creating solutions that deliver value to end users
Travel Required
Estimated travel to be 5-10% of the time.
