Job Summary
The Director of Enterprise DevOps provides strategic and operational leadership for DevOps and platform engineering across Digital Enterprise Technology (DET). This role ensures the reliability, scalability, security, cost efficiency, and speed of delivery for global digital platforms including SAP, MES, Industrial Cloud, and other core enterprise systems.
The position leads global DevOps and platform teams, manages outsourced delivery partners, and operates DevOps as an internal product‑led platform. The Director works as a strategic partner to Functional Centers of Excellence (COEs), jointly owning value streams, delivery outcomes, and operational excellence. This role reports directly to the Global CIO.
Key Responsibilities
Enterprise DevOps & Platform Strategy
- Develop and execute the enterprise DevOps strategy aligned to DET and broader business objectives.
- Mature DevOps capabilities toward a platform‑engineering, product‑focused model.
- Establish enterprise standards for automation, reliability, security, and quality across the software delivery lifecycle
Strategic Partnership with Functional COEs
- Serve as a strategic partner to COEs such as SAP, MES, Security, Data, and Digital Products.
- Co‑own value streams, roadmaps, KPIs, and delivery outcomes with functional leaders.
- Embed DevOps leadership in planning and governance forums to ensure alignment on priorities and architectural decisions.
Delivery, Operations & Value Stream Management
- Lead global DevOps, platform engineering, reliability, SAP Basis/ABAP/BW/Security, MES, and Industrial Cloud enablement teams.
- Drive operational excellence across enterprise platforms to ensure high availability, performance, and scalability.
Outsourcing, Financial & Resource Management
- Lead the outsourcing strategy, including nearshore and third‑party delivery models.
- Govern vendor performance through SLAs, KPIs, and financial controls.
- Optimize costs and resources across internal and external teams.
Security, Compliance & Resilience
- Ensure compliance with security, audit, and regulatory requirements across enterprise systems, particularly SAP.
- Embed security and resilience practices into DevOps pipelines and operations.
- Serve as an executive escalation point for major incidents.
Automation, AI & Continuous Improvement
- Advance automation and AI‑enabled capabilities to reduce manual effort and improve reliability.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and engineering excellence globally.

Minimum Qualifications
- Extensive experience in enterprise IT, DevOps, platform engineering, or software delivery leadership
- Proven leadership of global DevOps organizations
- Strong SAP experience across Basis, ABAP, BW/BI, and Security
- Demonstrated management of outsourced delivery and vendor governance
- Strong business acumen with experience in cost optimization and value‑stream management
- Excellent executive communication skills
