The Design Engineer designs and develops moderately complex structures and sheet metal for release to production in a manner to ensure superior performance, durability, quality, and serviceability.   

 

Your Impact: 

  • Product Design & Analysis: Develop new designs for fabricated structures, determine hydraulic/pneumatic requirements, and perform finite element analysis (FEA). 

  • Validation & Documentation: Create lab and field validation plans, technical drawings, and documentation aligned with manufacturing practices and cost targets. 

  • Project Management: Lead design reviews, delegate tasks, manage development plans, schedules, and budgets. 

  • Technical Evaluation & Problem Solving: Conduct competitive product evaluations, direct validation/testing, and resolve design/manufacturing issues. 

  • Supplier & Factory Communication: Define and manage supplier requirements, and ensure effective communication between factory and stakeholders for issue resolution. 

 

Your Experience and Qualifications:

  • Technical Skills & Experience: Must be proficient with solid modelling software, preferably ProE. 0–3 years of experience in engineering assignments. Experience with sheet metal and fabricated steel structures. Experience in designing and developing welded structures, mobile hydraulics, and mechanical linkages. Basic understanding of finite element analysis is preferred. Experience with drawing layouts and GD&T methodology. 

  • Mechanical Aptitude: Must have a strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to understand complex engineering and manufacturing concepts. 

  • Language Proficiency: Proficiency in both English and Italian is required. 

  • Work Attitude & Availability:  Ability to work effectively in a team and maintain a positive work attitude. Strong problem-solving skills. Availability to travel for field tests or business meetings. 

  • Educational Qualification: A bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering is required at a minimum.
