The Project Engineer Platform (PEP) serves as the engineering technical leader and coordinator for a combine headers and trailers platform, acting as the primary interface between Engineering and the cross-functional project team.
This role is responsible for ensuring the availability, accuracy, and timely delivery of all engineering technical information required for successful project execution, including product specifications, CAD data, drawings, Engineering Bills of Materials (EBOMs), and engineering change documentation.
The PEP represents Engineering within the platform core team and drives alignment across Engineering, Manufacturing, Purchasing, Costing, and other stakeholders to ensure programs are delivered according to quality, timing, cost, and technical requirements.
Your Impact:
-
Technical Project Coordination: you represent the Engineering function within the project core team and act as the primary technical focal point for the assigned platform. You coordinate engineering activities across multiple engineering modules, design and validation teams. Ensure alignment of engineering deliverables with project timing, milestones, and business objectives. You support Platform Lead Engineers (PLEs) in resolving technical, cost, timing, and quality-related issues.
-
Product Technical Data Ownership: facing core team, you own and manage platform engineering technical data, specifications, and technical documentation. You ensure the accuracy, completeness, and timely release of product technical specifications, Engineering Bills of Material (EBOM), including CAD models and drawings through Engineering Change Notices (ECNs), and overall the product architecture documentation and associated KPIs. You ensure that technical information is available and accessible to downstream functions according to project plans.
-
Engineering Integration & Vehicle Design Coordination: you coordinate vehicle and system design activities across engineering teams. You facilitate technical alignment between modules, design and validation teams, and platform stakeholders. You drive cross-functional understanding of technical solutions and design decisions. Promote standardization, reuse, and platform commonality where applicable.
-
Platform Architecture & Program Execution: you ensure the availability and integrity of global platform architecture documentation. Support execution of lead and follower projects through effective management of platform technical information. Minimize engineering complexity while maintaining product performance, quality, and compliance requirements. Ensure engineering deliverables support efficient product development and industrialization activities. This includes new product introduction (NPI) as well as portfolio consideration for current product maintenance (CPM), claim rate (CR) and reliability improvements through product problems reports (PPR) resolution, and product cost optimization (PCO) initiatives.
-
Cross-Functional Collaboration: you partner closely with Manufacturing, Purchasing, Cost Engineering, Quality, and Product Management teams to align technical solutions. Work closely with Design Cost Analysts (DCA) and engineering modules to ensure technical data supports product cost tracking and business decision-making. Provide technical guidance and clarification to stakeholders throughout the product development lifecycle.
-
Governance & Gate Reviews: Lead the preparation and presentation of engineering status, risks, and deliverables at project reviews, gates, and milestone meetings. Ensure engineering readiness for program gateways and product development checkpoints. Communicate technical risks, dependencies, and mitigation plans to project and functional leadership.
-
Technical Design: Besides main coordination activities, there would be room for product design activities. You will elaborate technical solutions in the frame of AGCO standards and processes, from ideation, CAD modelling and drawing release, for which you will bear engineering responsibility for cost, performance, quality, timing along the full product lifecycle.
