Plant Quality Manager - Breganze (Italy)

 

Scope

This position is responsible for leading the execution and deployment of Quality Plan in conjunction with plant leadership. Provides Total Quality Leadership to customers, suppliers, partners and internal manufacturing. Supports continuous improvement activities in targeted areas. Manages the Quality Assurance strategy to ensure product flow consistent with established industry standards and customer requirements.

The team includes 9 direct and 26 indirect reports.

 

Responsibilities

Build Quality

(Key metric: DPU / defects per unit)

  • Develops and implements programs to establish and maintain quality standards of existing products, as well as developing programs to focus employees on quality improvement.
  • Recommends nondestructive examinations and quality control inspections on products, materials, components, parts, etc., at various stages of the production process to ensure compliance with established quality and reliability standards.
  • Captures and analyzes statistical data from processes to either confirm compliance with established standards or identify deviations from standards.
  • Recommends new or enhanced methods, procedures and standards

 

System Quality

(Key metric: Integrated Management Systems – Quality, Environment and Safety)

  • Develops, assures and maintains the quality of products and processes, including standard procedures (e.g. Integrated Quality System), quality audits/review, etc.
  • Develops policies, procedures and methods to evaluate and improve the quality of products, materials, components and/or operations.

 

Supplier Quality

(Key metric: Scrap PPM)

  • Drives all aspects of the Supplier Quality function on an on-going basis in line with the Quality Management System and Quality Policy to ensure that products meet customer expectations

 

Field Quality

(Key metric: Repair frequency per unit)

  • Represents the Quality function at the Post Harvesting Annual Meeting in front of customers and dealers to discuss and present quality improvement plans and resolutions.

  • Familiarity with quality standards and processes
  • Communication skills to convey information in reports, meetings and status reports
  • Knowledge of the product to perform accurate quality control
  • Attention to detail 
  • Analysis, critical-thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Interpersonal skills 

 

Requirements

  • Mechanical Engineering University Degree or similar
  • 5+ years of experience in a leadership role within Quality function
  • Previous experience in automotive industry or agricultural machinery is a plus
  • Fluent English
