Supplier Development Engineer

The position provides cross-functional support to internal stakeholders, helping the implementation of Lean manufacturing and strategies for improving the operations and processes within the AGCO Supply Base. 
The incumbent reports to the Manager, Supplier Development and delivers strategic, tactical and operational support for the Global Purchasing Commodity Teams in the area of Lean. 

As an advisor to Purchasing Leadership and cross functional process partners, the incumbent manages Supplier Development projects, prioritizes strategic and tactical initiatives to embed robust procurement processes. 
Evaluates all continuous improvement activities and implements plans to optimize performance and processes, employs Lean methodologies and tools in order to accomplish business continuity. 


What You Will Do:

- Problem solve any supplier issues causing AGCO Business Continuity risk 
- Identify potential supplier development opportunities based on supplier audits
- Implement process improvements in the AGCO supply base
- Create cost savings for external sourced components by conducting Lean workshops within AGCO supply base
- Create, Support and Implement Regional Strategy for Supplier Development
- Manage Supplier Development pipeline portfolio Regionally
- Define, implement, develop and maintain expertise, standardized Lean tools and methodologies for purchasing on a global perspective
- Provide active purchasing negotiation support to global commodity teams in the responsibility area

What You Will Bring:

University degree in Engineering (Bachelor/Master) or equivalent, further MBA and/or academic training in business/economics is a plus. 
Ideally minimum 5 years of work experience in a Lean related role, preferably in a global environment. 
Overall business experience minimum 8yrs. 
Fluent Italian / English. 


Who You Are

Proven track record of cross-functional project management. 
Six-Sigma Greenbelt minimum. 
Strong quantitative, analytical and problem solving skills. 
Good understanding of the complete business environment form the aspects of purchasing, engineering, quality and manufacturing. 
Strong leadership skills with ability to communicate at all levels in a cross functional, matrix oriented, multicultural organization. 
Travel required based on projects (up to 70%)
Good understanding and proven usage history with few of the typical LEAN tools such as Value-Stream Mapping, 6-Sigma, Kaizen, PokaYoke, TPM, Kanban, Ishika


A Plus If You Have

Basic manufacturing process knowledge in at least one area of such as castings, forgings, machining, metal fab, plastics, etc. is considered as a plus.
