The Strategic buyer is responsible for assisting in driving the development and implementation of AGCO’s Global Digital Technology category strategy resulting in best-in-class quality, delivery, and total cost of ownership. The Strategic Buyer also supports the Global Category Manager through RFx execution, negotiations, market analysis, strategy development, contract management and data gathering and analysis. Success measured is based on spend addressed, value delivered, and overall service to stakeholders.    

 

Your Impact 

  • Accountable for savings target execution for DT categories in AGCO’s EME region including Software and Hardware, Consulting. Supplier Management: Identify, qualify and manage supplier relationships, including performance evaluation and contract negotiations. 

  • Contract Negotiation: Lead negotiations in EME region to secure favorable terms, pricing, and conditions. Cost Optimization: Drive initiatives for cost reduction and process improvements. 

  • Responsible for RFx preparation, execution, and analysis. For commodities in scope development, and/or assist Category Managers execute long-term strategy deployment, supplier cost modeling, supplier opportunity assessments, supplier financial analysis, make/buy analyses, negotiations, long-term contract establishment, continuous supplier performance improvement, and supplier relationship development. 

  • Assist the Category Managers in successfully contracting suppliers to provide AGCO with cost-optimized commodities. Develop a solid working knowledge of certain category trends including industry trends and cost drivers.    

  • Manages priorities and competing demands, with a sense of optimism, flexibility, and ownership, effectively managing internal customer expectations including special projects. 

 

Your Experience and Qualifications 

  • Minimum 3 years of prior experience in procurement is a must, preferably in Digital Technology categories. Knowledge of Purchase-to-Pay process   

  • Excellent negotiation skills with external suppliers   

  • Action and results driven and be able to work independently. Team player and working in a multicultural environment   

  • Always looking for improvements, be able to drive change and motivate other people Strong analytical and influencing skills, good knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint. 

  • Excellent communications skills in English, other languages are an asset

AGCO Shared Service Center (SSC) is located at Office Garden in the 11th district, in one of the most dynamically developing areas of Budapest providing global support to all AGCO global factories and sites in Finance, HR, IT, Purchasing, Customer Experience and Engineering functions.
