Your impact
The Design and Cost Analysis (DCA) Engineer is responsible for driving cost cost estimations for components and tracking product cost calculations (cost roll-up) throughout the product development lifecycle - from initial concept through to new product release - in line with each phase of AGCO Major Product Introduction Process (AMPIP).
Your experience and qualifications
- Ensure accurate cost inputs for NPI projects in alignment with the AGCO Major Product Introduction Process (AMPIP).
- Provide cost estimation (should-cost) activities for new parts, generating technical cost breakdowns and building representative cost models to identify cost improvements opportunities.
- Lead Target Cost Achievement deliverable and other NPI cost initiatives, such as TOP80 process - by applying Design-to-Cost (DTC) techniques, supporting Purchasing in supplier negotiations and driving sourcing/localization strategies to enhance AGCO products profitability.
- Ensure the availability and accuracy of AMPIP FIN and cost deliverables for each NPI Gate Review. Act as the cost and finance lead within NPI project core teams, responsible for all cost-related product information.
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing/Industrial Engineering, or Materials Engineering (mandatory).
Strong understanding of manufacturing commodities, including metal fabrication, castings, machining, plastic molding, forging, and cable harnesses (mandatory). - Experience with ERP and/or PLM systems, particularly in managing product structures and Bills of Materials (BoM) (mandatory).
- Professional experience in the machinery industry or with a component supplier - e.g., weld shop, foundry, machining, plastic molding (desirable).
- Experience with design engineering and CAD software such as CREO, SolidWorks; ability to interpret 2D/3D technical drawings and specifications (desirable).
- Advanced English communication skills (written and verbal), essential for daily tasks and subject to evaluation (mandatory).
- Advanced Microsoft Office package skills - mainly Excel (mandatory).
