Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Software Engineer Diagnostics to join our development team focused on advanced diagnostic solutions for all AGCO machine platforms. In this role, you will be responsible for the maintenance, support, and continuous improvement of the existing generation of diagnostic tools currently deployed in the field, ensuring their reliability, performance, and long-term usability. In parallel, you will contribute to the development of next-generation diagnostic software solutions based on the ODX and OTX standards, supporting the evolution toward modern and standardized diagnostic platforms.
You will work closely with cross-functional teams including system engineers, hardware developers, and external partners to ensure seamless integration of diagnostic functionalities into vehicle platforms.
In addition to integrating existing diagnostic functions, you will be expected to design new diagnostic features, develop intuitive processes that simplify usage for end users, and create user-friendly graphical interfaces that allow dealership technicians to easily build and navigate diagnostic pages.
Your expertise in diagnostic communication protocols, data modeling, and software development will be key to delivering robust and scalable solutions that support efficient vehicle diagnostics, service, and maintenance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Independently develops concepts and specifications for flash and diagnostic tools (software and hardware components) used in mobile working machines
- Develop and maintain diagnostic procedures in accordance with technician needs, ensuring usability, reliability, and alignment with real-world service use cases
- Programs software for vehicle service tools with a focus on the human machine interface
- Independently coordinates and manages development partners and suppliers for software and hardware, and collaborates closely with internal validation and testing teams to ensure solution quality and compliance
Experience and qualifications:
- A completed university degree (University, University of Applied Sciences, Technical University) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Mechatronics
- Solid understanding of vehicle control and measurement systems (sensors and actuators) and how they are monitored, controlled, and diagnosed through Electronic Control Units and Diagnostic tools
- Solid knowledge in software development such as C/C++/Python/REACT
- Good knowledge of relevant diagnostic standards such as ODX and OTX
- Strong communication skills, commitment, and ability to work in a team
- Excellent English skills, both written and spoken
