Who We Are:

The Strategy and Transformation (S&T) function is accountable to lead the development, execution, and evolution of AGCO’s corporate strategy.  This includes on-going analysis of the industry and competitive landscape, translating the strategy into business plans, leading a multiyear roadmap of strategic initiatives with expected value creation targets, and establishing change management strategies.  To deliver on those expectations, the S&T function includes  Business Strategy Leads, Data & Analytics, Results Delivery Office, Corporate Communications, Culture, and Change Management.

 

Who We Are Looking For:

We are looking for a stragegic leader to join our S&T team!  This strategy director role for the Precision AG and Digital (PA&D) business, directs strategy development for precision agriculture, customer and dealer facing digital applications, and the aftermarket, including an ongoing evaluation of the group’s performance, strengths and weaknesses, and competitive landscape to identify new growth opportunities.   This role analyzes the impact of strategic options for PA&D, partnering with the PA&D  Sr Vice President to develop and enable strategic business plans aligned with the corporate strategy. This role leads the PA&D portfolio of initiatives, including business case development, prioritization, strategic project execution, and value capture.  As the lead strategist for PA&D, this role will work with the S&T Data and Analytics team in building market and customer intelligence to evaluate the evolving impact of industry trends and market forces on the business. This role will report directly to the VP of Corporate Strategy & Transformation as a member of the S&T Leadership team.  The role also has a dotted line to the SVP of PA&D and serves as a member of the PA&D Leadership Team. 
 

What You Will Do:

• Establish PA&D strategies in alignment with the corporate strategy and objectives for the organization. Leverage market and customer intelligence, trend analysis, and predictive statistics to identify potential business opportunities and risks.
• Establish business cases and recommended strategic initiatives to address the largest areas of opportunity for PA&D. Drives cross functional collaboration to scope, resource, and execute the selected initiatives.
• Gather and analyze data evaluating new business opportunities or assessing potential markets, to assist executive teams in decision making and planning. Prepare proposals, reports, or presentations demonstrating the potential value of new business opportunities.
• Serve as key team member in business development process -evaluates strategic opportunities, establishes business development plans, and assists commercial and finance functions in executing the plan to drive organic and inorganic growth.
• Support Merger and Acquisition analysis & projects.  May serve as deal and/or integration lead, as needed.
• Partner with other functional and commercial leaders supporting the brand to evaluate capabilities and continuous improvement opportunities across all P&L levers. Builds key improvement opportunities into the annual business plans and project portfolio.
• Communicate, develop, and support continuous learning and educational opportunities for the Leadership teams relative to strategy development, market intelligence, data & analytics, and business planning processes.
• Develop strategic plans that drive both organic and inorganic top and bottom line growth of the brand. Partner closely with the sales & marketing function to ensure strong business development strategies and capabilities to assess new markets, evaluate business development opportunities, and enables new customer acquisition. Ensures alignment of evolving customer needs with the AGCO product portfolio and brand strategies to ensure solutions best serve the current and future needs of the growers and producers associated with the brand. Partners closely with the finance function to ensure impact and results of strategic efforts are tracked, transparent, and drive continuous improvement.
• Oversee the PA&D strategic project portfolio to ensure strong governance, execution and ensures cross-functional collaboration to plan, resource, execute and track impact of the portfolio. Ensure strategic project portfolio is aligned with corporate strategy, functional expectations, AGCO brand strategies, and top brand-based opportunities.
 

What You Will Bring:

•8-10 years experience as a consultant working on strategy plan development and implementation processes, or equivalent business experience
•5-10 years of experience leveraging technology to transform business models and product offerings
• Experience in agriculture or adjacent industry, preferred
• Experience leading Merger, Acquisition, Divestiture projects preferred
• The ability to identify, define and promote (new) strategic initiatives to support achievement of growth ambitions and to optimize cost structures and asset utilization.
• Project Management certification, or demonstrated project management skills gained through experience to support and guide project teams conceptually and analytically in defining business models, business strategies and performance improvement programs and assure alignment with the Corporate Strategy and Mission Statement.
