AGCO is seeking a visionary and execution-focused leader to serve as Sr. Director of Data and AI Governance, responsible for shaping and operationalizing the enterprise-wide governance strategy for artificial intelligence and data. This role will ensure ethical, secure, and compliant use of AI technologies across the organization, aligning with global regulations (EU AI Act, GDPR), internal policy frameworks, and AGCO’s strategic priorities. The position can be based in Germany the United States and plays a pivotal role in AGCO’s transformation into a trusted, AI-enabled enterprise.
Your Impact
Governance Strategy & Policy Leadership
- Lead the development and execution of AGCO’s AI and data governance strategy, including policy frameworks, risk management protocols, and ethical guidelines.
- Chair the Responsible AI Committee and contribute to the Executive AI Oversight Council.
- Align governance initiatives with the EU AI Act, NIST AI RMF, and AGCO’s internal Code of Conduct.
AI Lifecycle Oversight
- Oversee governance across the full AI lifecycle: intake, design, development, deployment, monitoring, and decommissioning.
- Implement TEVV (Test, Evaluation, Verification, Validation) frameworks and model observability platforms.
- Maintain AI inventory in CMDB and ensure traceability, explainability, and performance monitoring of all models.
Risk Management & Compliance
- Lead enterprise-wide AI risk classification and mitigation processes.
- Ensure compliance with legal, ethical, and security standards, including privacy impact assessments and vendor risk tiering.
- Collaborate with Legal, Security, and Architecture teams to conduct high-risk assessments and enforce governance controls.
Data Governance Integration
- Drive data quality, lineage, and classification initiatives across key domains (e.g., customer, machine, dealer).
- Oversee metadata management, master/reference data policies, and data catalog development.
- Ensure data readiness and policy enforcement for all AI use cases.
Cross-Functional Enablement
- Embed governance into delivery programs and functional teams via AI Champions and domain councils.
- Lead change management, training, and awareness campaigns to foster a culture of responsible AI.
- Collaborate with business units to democratize AI while maintaining centralized guardrails.
Technology & Platform Alignment
- Guide the development of a unified Data & AI platform with embedded governance, security, and compliance.
- Oversee integration of tools such as Databricks, GCP, Informatica, and MLflow for secure, scalable AI operations.
- Ensure sandbox environments and agentic pipelines meet governance standards including human-in-the-loop enforcement and hallucination monitoring.
Master Data Governance
- Oversee the implementation, optimization, and ongoing governance of Master Data Governance (MDG) platforms (e.g., SAP MDG, Informatica), ensuring harmonized processes for master data creation, quality, lineage, and compliance across vendor, customer, and product domains. Drive collaboration with global data stewards and business stakeholders to enforce data standards, enable structured onboarding, and support audit readiness for all enterprise master data assets.
Your Experience and Qualifications
- Required
- 10+ years in AI governance, data strategy, or compliance leadership roles.
- Deep understanding of EU AI Act, GDPR, and global AI governance frameworks (NIST, ISO, COBIT).
- Proven experience with AI lifecycle management, risk frameworks, and policy development.
- Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional leadership capabilities.
- Fluent in English; German proficiency preferred.

- Familiarity with generative AI governance, agentic AI pipelines, and model observability platforms.
- Advanced degree in Data Science, Law, Information Systems, or related field.

In this position, you will work remotely in the United States, with travel to our HQ in Duluth, GA and globally to work with your various direct reports.
