Job Summary

The Vice President, Chief Information Officer has complete responsibility for the management of technical resources to include strategic, direction, platform integration, and all business and financial systems implementation. The VP, CIO has responsibilities for the design, development and implementation of organizational information systems, software applications, and IT support and infrastructure systems. Directs and mange IT plans, schedules, policies and programs for an organization’s data processing, network communications, business operations, computer services and management information systems, according to established goals and objectives.

 

The position is responsible for managing the IT function globally with ultimate responsibility for people and budget. The ideal candidate should have experience in managing a globally distributed team in a culturally diverse organization. The ability to understand and interpret Profit and Loss statements by applying key metrics as it relates to budget management.

 

Job holder will work with the Senior Staff to develop and set strategy for the business as it relates to Information Technology. Will be responsible for ensuring the IT strategy supports the goals and vision of the company and be responsible for ensuring IT / Digital technologies used take advantage of efficiencies to maintain and/or reduce operational expenses while ensuring that the technology enables the company to manufacture superior physical products. Additionally, the job holder will be responsible to develop and deliver high quality digital products. Drive the implementation of development best practices throughout the organization, while governing control and ensuring objectives are achieved globally. This position will impact all departments and functions in relation to IT services by providing and managing the resources needed to create a global platform for AGCO’s employees, dealers and the digital engagement and enablement of our farmers.

 

The CIO is responsible to ensure appropriate security practices are in place and monitored to protect the digital assets of the corporation – including but not limited to – secure operation, administration and maintenance of the Organization's computing and networking infrastructure, compliance to personal data privacy requirements, intellectual property of the corporation and our digital products.


Job Function and Responsibilities

  • Evaluating all hardware, software, and communication contracts
  • Hands on resolution and management of existing problems
  • Creating and monitoring the IT budget which includes operations, capital, and expenditures of over $150 million annually
  • Effectively developing and communicating IT / Digital strategies to all levels of executive management, including the Board of Directors
  • Ensure that IT is leveraging its buying power to receive the best possible costs for the Company.
  • Analyze future initiatives to include evaluation, selection installation, testing, user training and production.
  • Establish procedures and standards to ensure that IT is operating on a best practice basis.
  • Analysis and subsequent action plans to ensure AGCO’s digital strategies are aligned with current and future business requirements. Presenting action plans on return on investment.
  • Ability to analyze a situation, consider alternatives, and apply logic to critical decisions and sell those recommendations quickly and enthusiastically to the other members of the senior staff.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute strategic planning.
  • Serves as a leader in identifying high-level tasks to include identifying emerging information technologies and how to assimilate and integrate the technology within the organization.
  • Oversee the development of mission-critical applications and technology to support the company’s long-term goals and provide direction and leadership to the overall IT / Digital organization.
  • Proven track record in complex information and computer system installations. Demonstrated ability to solve problems and prioritize computing demands.
  • Overall knowledge of the manufacturing industry and the key drivers for improving technology within the industry

 

FUNCTIONAL KNOWLEDGE

  • BS in Computer Science or equivalent business experience
  • 10+ years of IT experience with a demonstrated record of increasing responsibility
  • Expert knowledge of IT and its relationship with a Manufacturing industry
  • Strong team leadership and coaching experience combined with excellent communication, written and oral skills
  • The ideal candidate should have a background in computer science, information technology or software engineering
  • Business knowledge acquired through an MBA program is a plus

  • Proven track record in complex information and computer system installations.
  • Demonstrated ability to solve problems and prioritize computing demands.
  • Quality professional/management training at a senior or executive level.
  • The ideal candidate will have a record of consistently delivering on major strategic IT and business initiatives in an environment characterized by a sense of urgency and continuous improvement. This individual will not be satisfied with simply achieving goals but will seek out ways to consistently exceed goals and bring value to the organization.
