AGCO is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Intern to join our team based in Fargo, ND. This is a part-time internship during the school year starting in January 2025. The intern relates on a technical level to targeted products and their components and adapts to the product applications. The intern performs routine engineering work requiring the application of standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria in carrying out the tasks. The intern shall receive instructions on specific techniques and procedures and be supervised.

 

Your Impact

  • Design new products or modify existing products as directed to meet customer required features and functions including cost, reliability and quality requirements
  • Review support documentation and generate documents as directed
  • Maintain design documentation in a neat and organized fashion for review and supervisor approval
  • Work closely with supervisor and other engineering personnel to ensure designs meet all specifications
  • Work with manufacturing and with other team members to ensure the final product comes together in a design that meets or exceeds the requirements
  • Work with the Cross-Functional Project team to optimize designs for cost, quality, and manufacturability
  • Travel with company personnel to accomplish tasks, including meeting with customers, installing and testing prototypes, troubleshooting, and other related tasks
  • Perform basic design tasks and assists on other tasks such as: preparation of design specifications, prototype testing, drawings, and CAD work while preparing drawings and visual aids
  • Collects data and gathers information or documents and performs standard computations or analysis
  • Apply techniques and procedures in accordance with established criteria to perform assigned tasks.
  • Exercise limited judgment on details of work and in application of standard methods for conventional work.
  • Provide CEP, PM, or the project lead adequate amount of communication to manage the project

 

Your Experience and Qualifications

  • Pursuing a BS in Mechanical Engineering/Ag Engineering from and ABET accredited institution
  • Have farm background or experience
  • Knowledge of Creo, SolidWorks, CAD, and other relevant software
  • Have actual build from design projects
  • Ability to perform routine technical work and acquire an understanding of professional and ethical responsibilities
  • Able to meet specific MED project milestones on assigned projects and complete supporting work to allow other team members to meet their project milestones
