The Labor Relations Manager serves as the subject matter expert for labor and employee relations matters within the assigned business unit or manufacturing location. The role leads the interpretation and administration of collective bargaining agreements, grievance management, labor-management relations, negotiation support, workforce insights, and labor relations process improvement initiatives. Working independently and providing guidance in complex situations, the position serves as a trusted advisor to leaders, employees, union representatives, and HR stakeholders by leading labor and employee relations initiatives, conducting workplace investigations, developing leadership capability, supporting workforce planning and talent acquisition processes, using workforce insights to mitigate risk, strengthen organizational effectiveness, and support business objectives.   

 

Your Impact  

  • Lead labor relations activities including collective bargaining agreement administration, contract interpretation, grievance management, labor-management engagement, and negotiation support  

  • Conduct and lead workplace investigations involving employee relations concerns, grievances, corrective actions, labor disputes, and policy violations while ensuring compliance with company policies, employment laws, and organizational standards.   

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to leaders, supervisors, and HR stakeholders by providing guidance on employee relations matters, workforce challenges, labor law implications, and organizational risk.   

  • Develop leadership capability through coaching and training while supporting workforce planning, talent acquisition administration, new hire orientation, onboarding, and organizational change initiatives that strengthen organizational effectiveness and employee experience. 

  • Leverage workforce data, reporting tools, and AI-enabled analytics to identify trends, improve decision-making, monitor organizational health, and deliver actionable insights that support business performance and employee outcomes.   

  


Your Experience and qualifications  

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business, or a related field required; master's degree or MBA preferred.   

  • PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP certification preferred; Labor Relations Certificate preferred.   

  • Approximately 9 or more years of progressive experience in labor relations or human resources, preferably including people leadership, supervisor coaching, investigations, grievance administration, and collective bargaining agreement administration.   

  • Experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment required; unionized manufacturing experience strongly preferred.   

  • Extensive knowledge of labor and employment law and regulations.
