Weld Quality Engineer


Who We Are Looking For:

AGCO, a global leader in the design, manufacture and distribution of agricultural solutions, has an exciting career opportunity for a Weld Quality Engineer to join our Quality Assurance team in Hesston, KS. The Weld Quality Engineer will report to the Manager, Quality. The Weld Quality Engineer will be responsible for insuring all weldments comply with weld specifications, procedures and standard. The Weld QE will track internal weld issues and respond to customer issues, determine root causes, and implement countermeasures. The Weld QE will work closely with the Weld Supervisors and Manufacturing Engineers to develop weld processes, techniques, and applications to improve weld quality. Supervise a team of Weld Quality Technical personnel on 2 shifts.


 What You Will Do:

  • Provide expert level weld knowledge and utilize structured problem-solving tools (8D, 5why,  FMEA, etc.) to resolve weld issues and improve weld processes
  • Support kaizen activities to improve weld quality and eliminate waste.
  • Maintain a weld training and qualification program.
  • Audit weld quality, accuracy, stamping, and reporting.
  • Supervise containment and corrective actions.
  • Utilize statistical process controls and analysis to determine process capabilities, identify trends, and prioritize issues.
  • Assist Manufacturing and Design Engineering during pilot runs of prototype units to validate quality requirements.
  • Report and Analyze internal and external quality KPI’s including: PPM, Scrap, DPU, early hour warranty, etc.


 What You Will Bring:

  • Bachelor of Science, Technology, or Engineering degree is required; preferably in Quality Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Industrial Technology
  • 3+ years of quality engineering experience in fabrication, weld, or machining processes
  • 1+ years of supervisory experience
    What Will Set You Ahead:
  • AWS CWI or CWE Certifications
  • Experience utilizing Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel and PowerPoint
  • NDT Level 3
  • 2+ years working in the agricultural, heavy equipment, automotive, or aerospace industries


Willingness to travel when required.
