Innovation Center Field Engineer

AGCO is currently seeking a field engineer to join a small and innovative team in Hesston, KS. The successful candidate will help lead the way on the rapid innovation and development of products with a direct return on investment for end users and AGCO.  A high degree of ownership, flexibility, and a quick pace for exploration and development will be the norm for this group, outside of the confines of typical large, new product introduction projects.

 

Qualifications for the Innovation Center Field Engineer:

  • Desire and willingness to lead hands-on rework, installation, fabrication, and test efforts for the innovation team’s needs
  • Strong desire and ability to contribute to the design process of mechanical and mechatronic systems
  • Ability to maintain a field-ready status of our equipment fleet
  • Desire to spend time traveling and in the field for proof of concept and customer acceptance test activities, collecting voice of customer feedback at all design phases
  • Proven track record displaying extreme ownership in project success
  • Ability to collect, understand, and communicate customer value points in new innovations or expanded utilization of existing technologies
  • In-depth understanding of agricultural systems and processes, and a desire to be hands-on with the development of new products
  • Demonstrated ability to be a thought leader in your field of expertise
  • Display curiosity in providing market-leading solutions
  • Ability to accept failure as a part of innovation and rapidly transition to the next idea
  • Desire to work effectively within a small, high-performing team
  • Capability to provide insight on the optimization of design processes to streamline workflows
  • Proven ability to communicate clearly and openly
  • Attitude and Drive
    • Solid decision making skills, and the ability to make decisions with limited direction
    • A desire to participate in a fast-paced, dynamic development environment
    • A desire to provide innovative ideas and concepts in an expanding field of technology

  

Education and Experience for the Innovation Center Field Engineer:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, Agricultural Sciences, or other relevant technical degree
  • Three or more years of experience with the test or development of solutions for agricultural systems
  • Experience interfacing directly with customers strongly desired
