The Software Developer II is a critical role to enable the Fuse strategy.  Working in a DevOps approach, the Software Developer II is responsible for development of both new Fuse products as well as updating existing Fuse products, that deliver event-driven microservices on an Apache Kafka ecosystem.  With a focus on rapid, iterative delivery of professional software to prove specific business hypotheses, the team lead will participate in the design, building, and operation of production deployments that provide value to internal and external customers.

Job Responsibilities:

 

  • Work with product owners and/or other development team members to determine new features and user stories needed in Java applications/services
  • Leverage DevOps tool stack to build, inspect, deploy, test and promote new or updated features and provide support for applications in production in order to make quick repair maintain uptime
  • Create/maintain documentation to support development efforts. Documents may include implementation guides, application architecture diagrams, or design documents
  • Participate in code reviews to ensure that: each increment adheres to original vision as described in the user story, appropriate use of standard resource libraries, and compliance to established architecture patterns as appropriate
  • Participate in all team ceremonies including planning, grooming, product demonstration and team retrospectives
  • Demonstrate the ability to adapt and work with team members of various experience levels, mentor less experienced developers
  • Advanced proficiency in unit test structure and patterns
  • Contribute to process improvement and coding standards
  • Work requires occasional global travel to meetings, AGCO site visits, vendor/partner site visits, and conferences

 

Qualifications and Experience:

 

  • Minimum BS or equivalent and 5+ years of related experience
  • Experience designing Internet and cloud architecture, with a focus on IoT (Internet of Things)
  • Experience with Enterprise integration patterns and implementation
  • Experience with AWS architecture and implementation
  • Experience with automated unit and functional/load testing, including automated destructive testing
  • Strong understanding and experience of fundamental programming concepts of data structures, patterns, performance, and scalability issues in the context of mobile and Web based UI applications
  • Hands-on expertise with RESTful web services: cloud hosted solutions, APIs, system integration
  • Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases including configuration, distribution, and replication patterns/practices
  • Experience with Agile software methodologies with an emphasis on Scrum
  • Experience of modern web development toolkits and libraries such as ReactJS, Spring, etc a plus
  • Experience mentoring junior software developers
  • Experience with DevOps processes
  • Experience with Kafka and Spark preferred
  • Experience developing in Python, Java, Scala a plus
  • Ability to manage multiple demanding tasks or assignments
  • Ability to work under loose supervision and without detailed review of work
  • Ability to synthesize complex topics into meaningful information and cogent summary communications
