We are seeing a Software Developer II at our Hesston, Kansas location to play a critical role to enable our Fuse® strategy.  Fuse is AGCO’s open Smart Farming Platform and acts as our hub for innovation between the core brands, as an entry point for global technology partnering that brings the innovation of the broader Ag Tech market together.  Working in a DevOps approach, the Software Developer II is responsible for development of new Fuse® products as well as updating existing Fuse products, to deliver event-driven micro-services on an Apache Kafka ecosystem.  With a focus on rapid, iterative delivery of professional software to prove specific business hypotheses, this key team lead position will participate in the design, building, and operation of production deployments that provide value to internal and external customers.

This position is available for remote work.



  • Collaborate with product owners and other development team members to determine new features and capabilities to enhance existing applications/services.
  • Leverage DevOps approach to build, inspect, deploy, test and promote new or updated features and provide support for solutions in production in order to make quick repairs to maintain uptime.
  • Create/maintain documentation to support development efforts. Documents may include implementation guides, application architecture diagrams, or design documents.
  • Participate in code reviews to ensure that: each increment adheres to original vision as described in the user story, appropriate use of standard resource libraries, and compliance to established architecture patterns as appropriate.
  • Contribute to team events including planning, grooming, product demonstration and team retrospectives.
  • Facilitate process improvements and coding standards.



  • BS or equivalent with 5 plus years of related development experience
  • Experience designing cloud hosted services and applications, with a focus on IoT (Internet of Things.)
  • Experience with Enterprise integration patterns and implementation using AWS products and services
  • Experience with automated unit and functional/load testing, including automated destructive testing with experience of fundamental programming concepts of data structures, patterns, performance, and scalability issues in the context of mobile and Web based UI applications.
  • Hands-on expertise with RESTful web services: cloud hosted solutions, APIs, system integration, with knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases including configuration, distribution, and replication patterns/practices.
  • Experience with Agile software methodologies with an emphasis on Scrum (or SAFe), and with experience of DevOps concepts.



  • Experience of modern web development toolkits and libraries such as ReactJS, Spring, etc.
  • Experience with Kafka and Spark.
  • Experience developing in Python, Java, Scala.
