Job Function and Responsibilities

·        Execute feature estimation, design, testing and implementation.

·        Assists in sprint planning.

·        Responsible for sprint execution.

·        Holds sprint retrospectives.

·        Contribute to module's technical software documentation.

·        Contribute to module's software release.

·        Coach and mentor software developers.

·        Perform peer code reviews.

·        Contribute to technical architectural design and reviews.

·        Contribute to process improvement and coding standards.

·        Write, run, and maintain automated tests for AGCOs telemetry data platform, and associated components.

·        Participate in project planning activities and collaborate with clients and internal teams to develop appropriate test solutions for varying technical components.

·        Help meet department QA goals through use of proven software testing techniques, planning, and results tracking.

·        Track tests against project requirements.

·        Assist with and drive. where necessary, root cause analysis.

·        Work requires occasional global travel to meetings, AGCO site visits, vendor/partner site visits, and conferences.



·        Detailed knowledge of the following:

o   IT Development standards

o   Function design, specification and testing procedures

o   Potential technical solutions for future business requirements

o   Problem management procedures

o   IT Change Management Process

o   All systems being supported and their impacts both regionally and globally

·        Good working knowledge of the following:

o   Day-to-day operational environment locally, regionally and globally

o   Agile software development methodologies



o   Detailed understanding of the business areas supported by the systems is required to ensure solutions meet true business needs and requirements.

o   Agricultural experience is a plus.

o   Discreet Manufacturing experience is preferred plus.

o   Global company experience is a plus.



·        Coach and mentor software developers

·        Conduct peer code reviews

·        Minimum BS or equivalent and 5-8 years of related experience

·        5+ years of telemetry systems experience with automated software test planning and execution working with large-scale data platforms and low level data protocols

·        Experience designing Internet and cloud architecture, with a focus on IoT (Internet of Things).

·        Experience with Enterprise integration patterns and implementation.

·        Experience with automated unit and functional/load testing, including automated destructive testing.

·        Strong understanding and experience of fundamental programming concepts of data structures, patterns, performance, and scalability issues in the context of mobile and Web based UI applications.

·        Hands-on expertise with RESTful web services: cloud hosted solutions, APIs, system integration.

·        Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases including configuration, distribution, and replication patterns/practices.

·        Experience with Agile software methodologies with an emphasis on Scrum.

·        Advanced knowledge of HTML5/CSS and JavaScript preferred.

·        Experience of modern web development toolkits and libraries such as ReactJS, RxJS, etc preferred.

·        Experience mentoring software individuals.

·        Experience with DevOps processes a plus.

·        Experience with Kafka and Scala a plus.

·        Ability to manage multiple demanding tasks or assignments.

·        Ability to work under loose supervision and without detailed review of work.

·        Ability to synthesize complex topics into meaningful information and prepare materials appropriate for senior level communications.
