The Warehouse Attendant receives, handles, picks, packs, sorts, checks, and ships a wide variety of materials and parts using scales, scanners, and keyboards. Makes routing arrangements, dispatches, or moves items to proper staging locations. Visually checks the condition of incoming materials and parts and reports any that are incorrect or that do not appear to meet quality standards to the appropriate Warehouse Supervisor. Locates stock, fills requisitions, reports stock that is in short supply and completes paperwork in accordance with Company guidelines.
Your Impact
- Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area.
- Identify and report faulty equipment, damages, and safety concerns to Supervisor immediately.
- Follow company standards and legal regulations to ensure safe and positive work atmosphere.
- Performs all work according to documented safety policies and procedures.
- Receives, unpacks, counts, sorts, and checks various materials and parts weighing up to 50 pounds frequently, and up to 70 pounds occasionally. Monitors symbol number, description, size, and count against receiving, packing and/or shipping lists.
- Visually checks the condition of incoming parts to monitor product quality.
- Manually places the materials in suitable containers and moves them to the proper locations.
- Maintains and update’s manual location file.
- Manually guides the movement of items weighing up to 1,400 pounds via roller conveyors.
- Ships orders using the following procedures:
- Verifies that the part number and the number on the pick ticket are the same as that shown on the order form.
- Spot checks to verify that proper quantities have been picked.
- Places material in the proper size shipping container using protective packing techniques.
- Properly seals the shipping carton and affixes a shipping label.
- Marks the shipping order to note each line item shipped.
- Takes cycle counts as requested.
- Must be able to follow directions.
- Must meet or exceed predetermined rates.
- Depending on workloads, may be required to work in various departments.
Your Experience and Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Three to twelve months of relevant experience working in a warehouse.
Training:
On-the-job training is provided.
