AGCO, a global leader in the design, manufacture, and distribution of agricultural solutions, has an exciting career opportunity for a Sr. Buyer to join our team in Jackson, MN. The Sr. Buyer will assist in driving the development and implementation of AGCO’s global commodity strategies resulting in best-in-class quality, delivery, and total cost of ownership. Also, the Sr. Buyer supports multiple Strategic and Global Commodity Managers through RFQ execution, negotiations, market analysis, strategy development, contract management and data gathering and analysis. The Sr. Buyer also supports the North America and Global team by identifying and implementing continuous improvement initiatives for both transactional and strategic purchasing. Success measured is based on spend addressed, value delivered, and overall service to stakeholders. The most common Indirect Purchasing Commodities are, including but not limited to HR Services, Marketing, Global Travel, IT & Communications, Operations, MRO, Facilities Management, Professional Services & Fleet and Capital Expenditure    

 

Your Impact 

  • Accountable for savings target development and execution for its Site. 

  • Responsible for RFQ preparation, execution and analysis.     For select commodities, develop, and/or assist Purchasing and Commodity Managers execute long-term strategy deployment, supplier cost modeling, supplier opportunity assessments, supplier financial analysis, make/buy analyses, negotiations, long-term contract establishment, continuous supplier performance improvement, and supplier relationship development. 

  • Assist the Commodity Manager in successfully contracting suppliers to provide AGCO with cost-optimized commodities. Develop a solid working knowledge of certain commodity trends including industry trends, cost drivers, global and regional pricing, material lead times, and technical/manufacturing processes. 

  • Manages priorities and competing demands, with a sense of optimism, flexibility, and ownership, effectively managing internal customer expectations including special projects. 

  • Improve team’s reporting capabilities in the form of increased data integrity and visual dashboard applying data scientist skills. 

 

Your Experience and Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Related Field 

  • Effective communicator with good interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate with a diverse internal team, executive leadership, and suppliers. Effectively and positively presents solutions in ambiguous or demanding situations. 

  • Solid orientation to relationship building and change management.  

  • Good negotiation and analytical skills. Is results-oriented, proactive, demonstrating a degree of autonomy at global and cross-functional levels with solid strategic / long term planning skills and thought leadership.  

  • English language Proficiency required. Other language knowledge is an Advantage (such as Portuguese, German, Spanish). 

 

Your Compensation   

This position will be within the range of $85K, based on experience. This position is eligible for a bonus based on 7% compensation.
