Platform Project Engineer

Platform Project Engineer will be responsible for leading a NPI design engineering team. Having the Farmer First mindset, and focusing on exceeding farmer’s expectations, this role will lead a team responsible for the development of solutions for new product designs.  This will include working together with a cross functional team by partnering with Manufacturing, Quality, Purchasing and Suppliers to work on improvements for components optimization, utilizing design for manufacturability and assembly methodologies. Travels to foreign and domestic sites, dealers and customers to solve design problems and to evaluate product improvements. Using technical expertise and product knowledge to play leadership role in the problem resolution process when interfacing with test, service, plant personnel, suppliers, and consultants. The position reports directly to Platform Lead Engineer and is part of a strong and collaborative team, focused on delivering the best products for the farmers. 

 

Capable of performing these Responsibilities:

  • Lead Design Engineering project team using robust and consistent processes to achieve committed targets for projects
  • Develop multi-year project plans including schedules and budgets
  • Track project deliverables and expenses to ensure quality, financial, and time metrics are met
  • Coordinate use case analysis and new product specifications with the Design Engineering teams and align with cross functional departments
  • Conduct Design Engineering project control meetings and update project plans (schedule and budget estimates)
  • Compile and present periodic project status reports to interdepartmental teams and management team
  • Organize and facilitate Design Engineering design reviews as well as DFMEA sessions
  • Provide support with prototype builds, lab and field validation, and issues resolution
  • Coordinate the development of initial project Bill of Materials and validation requirements
  • Develop and Implement new processes to improve timing, quality and cost of NPI projects
  •  Communicate with Application Design Engineering sites in other countries to ensure global alignment

 

Required Qualifications of the Project Engineer:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience working with agricultural or off highway equipment
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience working with new product introduction processes and tools

 

Preferred Qualifications of the Project Engineer:

  • Project Management Professional certification

 

Education of the Project Engineer:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering OR 10+ years of relevant experience
