  • Identify, troubleshoot and resolve issues (including Quality, BOM, and routing issues) specific to LDMS area.  The systems used will include Windchill, SAP, Proceedix, and MES.
  • For bigger systemic issues act as point person to escalate and involve right parties to resolve issue.
  • First line of review of component issues and start process reviews to identify root cause.  Escalate if no evidence of assembly cause is found (MRB activities).
    • MRB
      • Process tech will fix damage caused by/ during production processes
      • Process tech will attend MRB meeting (Likely a dedicated person)
  • Resolve Serial Number collection issues.
  • Initiate, review, and resolve if applicable Change Requests specific to LDMS area.
  • Lead and attend Quality Gates meeting.  Quality Gate Auditor is responsible for communicating the individual write ups. 
  • Resolve issues and make improvements to optimize OMS, BOP, and Work Standard visuals.  Issues may include parts missing, incorrect color, and incorrect quantity of parts.  Improvements may include documenting tribal knowledge in OMS, training on work standards, improving OMS visuals, line balancing, and work sequencing as some examples. 
  • When it is identified that there are discrepancies between the BOM and the “as built” state, gather the appropriate info and generate the deviations for a Manufacturing Engineer sign.
  • For your LDMS area responsible for:
    • Physically maintain torque tools and assembly fixtures/aids.
      • Torque tool maintenance
        • Process tech is subject matter expert for their area
    • Update Torque information in the system.
    • Identify and implement improved torque tool solutions and assembly fixtures/aids.
  • Lead improvement efforts working with leads and other team members to achieve improvement goals.  Some examples of these may include Quality improvement targets, productivity improvements, and Kaizen Saving improvements.
  • With Supervisors and Leads complete work observations and audits to identify opportunities for improvements and assure adherence to standards and processes. 
  • Special projects involving inspections in ship lot, Process audit and problem solving. – ALL as needed
  • Weekly product Audits owned by production, Central QE will participate in the weekly product audits and own any other deeper level audits as needed. 
    • As a transition in AEQ QE will help with weekly audits and PDI’s as needed.

 

Items that are outside the area of responsibility:

  • FCO’s
  • Specials processing – This will be handled by the central ME
  • QMS Setup – this is done by Central Quality.  Changes in production should be reviewed by central planning prior to implementation

 

*Reviewing MCN annual workloads to determine if workflow for processing of MCN (in Windchill).
