Senior Manufacturing Engineer:


AGCO is currently seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to join our Manufacturing Engineering team in Jackson, MN. The Senior Manufacturing Engineer will play a key part in conducting manufacturing engineering assignments in conformity with sound engineering principles, policies, and controls to develop new methods, processes, and product designs to resolve quality and cost issues in manufacturing. Additionally, the Senior Manufacturing Engineer will focus on working with Design Engineers on New Product Introduction (NPI) processes to optimize cost, quality, and manufacturing time of new products.

Note: Relocation assistance is available to the Jackson, MN area for this position.

Responsibilities of the Senior Manufacturing Engineer:

  • Assist with new product introduction activities within assigned area
  • Make suggestions to Design Engineers to improve the manufacturability of current designs
  • Research and development of both existing and new processes and manufacturing systems to improve quality, productivity, and reduce operating costs
  • Provide technical assistance, training, and information to various individuals involved in the production processes
  • Responsible for the accurate execution of the Manufacturing Engineering department’s portion of the Engineering Change Notice (ECN) process for their area
  • Communicate effectively with personnel, as the job requires, in a professional manner that facilitates teamwork
  • Responsible for all aspects of project management on assigned projects including but not limited to the following: schedule development, schedule adherence, status monitoring, and budget compliance
  • Keep abreast of new development pertinent to one’s job responsibilities through contacts with professional societies, educational centers, tool and machine manufacturers, technical papers, journals, periodicals and other sources
  • Prepare cost estimates of purchased and manufactured components and materials, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and conformance with required delivery schedules


Required Qualifications of the Senior Manufacturing Engineer:

  • 5+ years of experience working as a Manufacturing Engineer, Industrial Engineer, or similar position on process improvement projects
  • Project management experience
  • Process improvement experience
  • Strong communication skills


Preferred Qualifications of the Manufacturing Engineer:

  • 3+ years of experience working on assembly, fabrication, and/or welding related process improvement projects
  • 3+ years of experience working in the agriculture, heavy equipment, or automotive manufacturing industry 

Education of the Manufacturing Engineer:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Manufacturing, Mechanical, or a related engineering/technical degree is required
