Validation Engineer
Summary of Responsibilities:
Assumes responsibility for field-testing prototype machines. Strong communication with design engineering personnel, machine users and other involved persons on assigned projects. May also be required to assist in laboratory test, prototype updates and evaluation of customer owned machines.
Summary of Duties:
- Must be self-motivated and have the ability to travel extensively.
- Assist in selecting locations for test in accordance with test objectives and in making arrangements with cooperators.
- Report accurate test observations, results, part failures, performance data, functional and reliability issues, and recommend/implement improvements.
- Instrument machines with data logger, organize and analyze data per project request.
- Assist engineering personnel in identification and resolution of potential safety hazards.
- Inform engineering personnel of industry developments, trends and observations, based on interaction with cooperators.
- Maintain assigned equipment in good working condition and appearance and maintain security as required for project in testing process.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 4-year technical/bachelors degree in Ag or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent field/technical experience in testing of Ag or Off highway equipment.
- Clean driving record and ability to pass MN DOT physical.
Experience:
Field/technical experience in testing of Ag or Off highway equipment
Ag experience/background desired
Skills:
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Ability to make field modifications to prototype independently or through instructions from design engineering group.
- Strong PC knowledge
