Our Customer Support team is driven by a commitment to excellence, ensuring AGCO delivers industry-leading products and services in an efficient and cost-effective way. We are currently seeking a Field Technical Manager to join our Johannesburg team. In this role, you will provide field service and technical support for designated Fendt products across the South African market, supporting distributors, dealers, and end users.

 

Your Impact

  • Act as the Level 1 product champion and provide field service support for designated products across South Africa and, when required, other African markets.
  • Deliver technical support to distributors, dealers, and end users through AGCO reporting systems, telephone support, and field visits.
  • Investigate, quantify, and follow up on field service and warranty issues, coordinating with Level 2 support, engineering, and source plant teams to ensure resolution.
  • Coordinate field campaigns and repair programmes, ensuring completion targets are achieved and information is accurately managed through the warranty system.
  • Develop and deliver technical training, documentation, service bulletins, and product information to support dealer capability and AGCO Africa requirements.
  • Attend regional training sessions, service meetings, Africa events, and source factory engagements to support continuous product knowledge and service improvement.
  • Present and follow up on key product issues at Africa service review meetings and provide technical support for field events, demonstrations, and product matching activities.
  • Conduct dealer service audits and technical skills assessments to strengthen service standards and dealer performance.

 

Your Experience and Qualifications

  • 3–5 years’ post-qualification experience working directly with agricultural equipment or in a related industry.
  • Experience working with combines, balers, hay equipment, planters, and tractors.
  • HND or equivalent qualification in agriculture or machinery, together with a qualified trade test.
  • Fluent in English; French or Afrikaans would be an advantage.
  • Strong computer literacy and administrative skills.
  • Ability and willingness to travel within Africa and to other AGCO locations, as required.
  • Valid, clean driver’s licence.
