Electrical / Electronics Engineer
Lincoln, NE, US
We are seeking a highly motivated, hands-on Electrical/Electronics Engineer to support the reverse engineering, instrumentation, and autonomous integration of commercial and industrial vehicles. This role is critical in enabling programmatic control of vehicle platforms through deep understanding and modeling of their electrical and electronic systems.
The ideal candidate thrives in both lab and field environments, enjoys solving complex electrical problems through experimentation, and is comfortable working with incomplete documentation. You will collaborate closely with cross-disciplinary teams to integrate sensors, interpret HMI signals, and design electrical interfaces connecting vehicle ECUs to autonomy controllers.
Solutions for Every Season We engineer and deliver precision ag hardware, software, and cloud-based platforms that connect every corner of the farm.
Your Impact
-
Reverse engineer vehicle electrical systems to identify and understand HMI inputs, sensor signals, and ECU interfaces.
-
Design, implement, and validate electrical and electronic interfaces for autonomous control of vehicle systems.
-
Capture and interpret electrical signals using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and multimeters.
-
Develop and execute test scripts in Python, MATLAB, or C/C++ for hardware validation and signal analysis.
-
Create and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and interface documentation.
Your Experience and qualifications
-
Hold a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field, with at least 2+ years of hands-on experience in electrical/electronic engineering—preferably in vehicle or industrial systems; equivalent practical experience is also considered.
-
Configure, debug, and validate communication systems including CAN, LIN, RS-232, and Ethernet; perform vehicle instrumentation and testing in both lab and field environment.
-
Exhibit solid programming skills in Python, MATLAB, or C/C++ for scripting, data collection, and hardware validation; comfortable working in Linux environments, with the ability to read, produce, and interpret detailed electrical schematics and understand electrical interface design and communication protocols.
-
Document and interpret electrical systems by designing and building wiring harnesses, reverse-engineering interfaces, and creating detailed test procedures; collaborate with software teams to support integration with autonomy platforms such as ROS.
-
Demonstrate strong practical knowledge of electrical/electronic components, sensors, actuators, and safety practices; proficient in using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, multimeters, and other test equipment for diagnostics and validation. People should be able to work in Heights (3-5 meters) and farming environments
