PTx is seeking a motivated individual for an Engineering Intern position who is a quick learner and interested in technology.
Your Impact
There are a wide range of projects available, and the project will depend on the successful applicants’ skills and interests. Potential projects fall into the following categories with a focus on off-road mobile machines and automation of agricultural equipment:
- System verification and validation - machine regression testing, operating in real world farming situations
- Machine system integration - troubleshooting wire harnessing, evaluating sensor placement
- Robotics and Simulation (ROS2, C++)
- Control systems and embedded development (C)
Depending on the project selected, the successful candidate will be responsible for some of the following:
- Design and implementation
- Machine verification
- Machine integration
- Discussing and documenting requirements with staff
By the end of the internship, the successful candidate will have gained experience with/in:
- CANbus
- Embedded software testing
- ROS systems
- Machine systems
- System and regression testing
Your Experience and Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in an accredited bachelor’s degree program in Ag systems technology, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or a related field
- Strong technical and programming skills
- Excellent inter-personal skills, with the ability to interact with the rest of the engineering team
- Familiarity of the following preferred:
- Low voltage machinery wiring and troubleshooting methods
- Programming languages - C/C++, C#, and Python
- Communication protocols - J1939
- Development - CI/CD,
- Other - Git, Jenkins, Linux, Jira, Docker, ROS2
