The Director (m/f/x), Engineering, Global EFG Tractors is responsible for leading global cross functional teams to develop and deliver cutting-edge onboard electronics and electrical component technology, as well as safety related software on a modular basis, as well as vehicle-based projects across all product lines in AGCO´s global tractor business. This role plays a pivotal role in developing engineering standards and works with locations worldwide on product development processes to improve our efficiency and effectiveness. The Director (m/f/x) builds high-performing teams that live up to the same strategic product vision and transfer this vision efficiently into products and platforms.
Your Impact
- Technical Leadership & Ownership: Lead global Electronic/Electrical Design Engineering teams (Software Development & Hardware Harness) across Finland, the USA, Brazil, Germany, and France, ensuring high quality, alignment with AGCO development standards, and continuous improvement
- Strategic Product & Project Management: Own and develop the strategic project roadmap, define product vision, and deliver NPI projects on scope, budget, time, and quality in line with company priorities and Product Management direction
- Budget Ownership: Plan, manage, and monitor budgets across multiple sites, teams, and value streams
- Innovation & Methodology Development: Drive forward‑looking technology strategies, integrate sustaining and disruptive technologies, enhance agile practices (including SAFe), and support global standards and engineering growth initiatives
- Global Collaboration & People Leadership: Foster cross‑brand and cross‑functional cooperation, resolve architectural and cost conflicts, manage resource and succession planning, and recruit, develop, and lead engineering talent and leaders
Your Experience and Qualifications
- Extensive technical and industry expertise with 10+ years in product development and systems engineering for software‑ and electronics‑based products, strong agile methodology experience (e.g., SAFe), and 10+ years in Agricultural, Automotive, or Construction equipment
- Extensive leadership and people management experience at a senior or Director level, including several years of responsibility for teams and budgets, as well as proven ability to develop and empower leaders, work effectively across cultures and global sites, and drive high‑performance engineering environments
- Strong strategic, analytical, and communication capabilities, including the ability to define system architectures, decompose requirements, resolve conflicts objectively, and communicate strategies and processes to diverse internal audiences
- Demonstrated ability to deliver complex, cross‑functional projects by collaborating with distributed teams and vendors, integrating emerging technologies, managing risks, and ensuring alignment with business objectives
- Solid business and financial acumen including budget management, understanding of financial objectives, business analysis, and fostering continuous improvement and high‑quality engineering practices
Your Workplace
This role follows AGCO’s on‑site work model, with employees primarily working from an AGCO location for a minimum of 4 days per week to support collaboration and teamwork.
