Job Responsibilities

 

  • Communicate with OEM customer contacts on quality related items including product changes and issue responses.  Collaborate with internal groups to gather information to develop responses.
  • Prepare and submit PPAP documents and samples according to customer requirements and timelines. Update and maintain the documentation throughout the life of associated parts.
  • Investigate product quality issues stemming from customer complaints or known issues and coordinate product containment activities.  Work with internal teams to determine the root causes of valid issues.
  • Facilitate and manage investigations and corrective action plans with suppliers or internally and escalate to resolution when needed.  Complete follow up to verify that effective corrective action is taken.
  • Coordinate return of products related to customer complaints.  Evaluate and test returns to verify complaints.  Work with internal teams to support resolution of valid product issues. 
  • Develop/maintain inspection and test plans pertaining to evaluation of customer returns.
  • Create summaries using various data sources to identify product areas needing improvement and effectiveness of corrective actions implemented.
  • Create and provide various documentation in both internal and external (customer) systems for PPAP, inspection, non-conformance, and corrective action related activities.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.


Qualifications and Experience
 

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Technology, related technical field, or equivalent education and experience.
  • Minimum 1 year of quality engineering experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Team player with strong interpersonal skills. Ability to productively interface with team members, vendors, and customers.
  • Effective communication abilities including oral and written.
  • Strong data analysis and reporting skills.
  • Understanding and interpretation of engineering drawings & specifications.
  • Experience using quality tools and methodologies such as root cause analysis, 8D, SPC, FMEA, PPAP, etc.
  • Experience with metrology equipment and various inspection methods.
  • Established organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficient in use of Microsoft Office Suite as well as the Google equivalents.
