Production Control Technician

The Production Control Technician (PCT) reports to the Production Control Manager (PCM).  The mission of the PCT is to perform the production control ordering and scheduling functions to maintain on time delivery.  PCT also has accountability to maintain optimum inventory levels and achieve 95% or better inventory accuracy.  He/she is responsible to participate in the inventory count programs to achieve 100% on time to ABC schedule.  The PCT is responsible to participate in continuous improvement and Lean Manufacturing activities/projects at the department level.  The PCT will participate in kaizen events to reduce inventory, improve scheduling, improve inventory accuracy, and/or eliminate waste.  Supply Chain Optimization is a global initiative that is key to our future, and the PCT will actively be involved in pursuing the appropriate skills, tools, and support the implementation plans to deliver World-Class results.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Participate and support activities to attain customer order fulfillment
  • Responsible to help support and maintain acceptable Inventory Accuracy
  • Required to monitor and support scheduling and ordering processes to maintain optimum inventory level
  • Support and participate in corrective actions to insure inventory plan is met
  • Input data in plant schedules to achieve capacity, lead-time and yield across assigned cells.  
  • Input and monitor data to the production schedule and/or material ordering functions.  
  • Support, help develop,  and follow standard practices on relevant  processes
  • Input and maintain planning tools to ensure all appropriate cells can run 100% of the scheduled time with no controllable material shortages.
  • Participate in cycle count process
  • Support all plant personnel  to help achieve schedules, delivery, inventory and efficiency goals


Qualifications and Experience

  • Basic math skills
  • Must have excellent communications skills (written & verbal)
  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Outlook
  • Experience with Sienna
  • AutoCad helpful, but not required.


  • AAS in business or related equivalent
  • BS preferred
  • APICS certification a plus

Special Skills

  • Excellent computer skills – Microsoft programs
  • SQL
