Job Summary

  • The Production Manager is responsible for the end to end results of a production department, ensuring production plan is fully achieved on time and in compliance with internal and external requirements;
  • Sustainably improve cost competitiveness, safety and quality by enabling and empowering operational teams to practice self-management increasing the agility in decision making, losses reduction and prevent problems.

Job Responsibilities

  • Setup and operate CNC mills to create complex parts on 3, 4, and 5 axis machining centers
  • Drive consistently performance improvement and Optimize the Factory Costs.
  • Leads and owns the production department/area Operational Masterplan and proactively sponsors the projects portfolio;
  • Responsible to establish the manufacturing reliability required level to meet the business needs on Safety, Quality, Service and Cost;
  • Drive improvement in Labor efficiency and Total Labor Productivity;
  • Invests time coaching teams on the floor: a) monitoring compliance with operating standards and checking the management of the key standard routines;
  • Ensures and supports the timely successful launch of new/renovated products and new equipment's, with the operational cost agreed. "
  • Protect the Core by ensuring and sustaining safety operation, product quality and records accuracy.
  • Ensures compliance to health, food safety and regulatory requirements of all products manufactured.
  • Ensures the working areas and installations in the factory complies, operates and are maintained and working in accordance to the standards and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
  • Ensures Safety and Quality Culture in the working environment.
  • Ensures the factory organization structure evolution and develop autonomous teams.
  • Leads career development and the succession planning process of the department/area;
  • Ensures leaner factory organizations (with efficient span of control/ layers) to develop autonomous and engaged people;
  • Develops AM competencies in the Factory to support the autonomy development in the factory
  • Ensures the Production Team/Line Leaders have the right competence level, clear ownership and accountability for results, develop autonomous operating teams to ensure decision making at the lowest level;
  • Stewards , trains, supports and coaches the AWG Teams in the Manufacturing competencies (e.g. Process Mastership, AM, GA, FI) and applicable manufacturing standards

Safety Responsibilities

Employees are responsible for individual compliance with all safety rules, policies and procedures.  Associate responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Comply with all safety rules, policies and procedures.
  • Report any unsafe practices and/or conditions to their supervisor.
  • Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) and report any defective PPE.
  • Report all near-misses, incidents, injuries, illnesses, including mobile equipment or property damage.
  • Participation in the site Safety and Health Program.

 

Essential skills

Education

Bachelor’s Degree Preferred

MBA a plus, but not required

 

Qualifications and Experience

  • Operational experience (4 years +);
  • Bachelor's Degree Preferred
  • Production Team Leader - Production Line Leader
  • Experience in the technologies within his/her operation
  • Successfully led and developed teams;
  • Bi-Lingual is a plus

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has direct reports as a member of the site leadership team.

 

Work Environment

This job operates in both a professional office and manufacturing environment. This role frequently uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.

 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee works with or near to moving trucks, trailers, fork trucks, and near large machinery and equipment daily. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. The employee is exposed to a variety of extreme conditions including temperatures ranging from 40°F to 105°F.

 

Physical Demands

The physical demands here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential job functions of this job.

 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl and use hands and fingers to handle or feel; and reach with hands or arms. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

 

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

 

The employee must wear personal protective equipment (i.e. eye protection, hearing protection, safety shoes, gloves, sleeves, etc.)

 

Travel

Minimal Travel expected as needed for special projects.
