AGCO is looking to hire candidates for the position of Data Engineer.  The Data Engineer I role in Analytics and Automation team is responsible for preparing and converting raw data to analytics-ready data. The Data Engineer will apply data enablement processes for proof of concept and prototype projects in the following data domains: machine telemetry (IoT data), customer and technical data.

The Data Engineer has 3 keys responsibilities:

1) building data connections and pipelines,

2) collaborate and prepare data with Data Scientists, and other business stakeholders across the company

3) identify and maintain data quality and processing improvements opportunities. 

  

Your Impact 

  • Designs and implements data pipelines to collect, process, and transform data based on project requirements, ensuring reliable and scalable data flow.
  • Builds and optimizes infrastructure for data ingestion, processing, and enrichment—leveraging existing datasets while performing cleansing, normalization, hashing, and applying necessary data model updates.
  • Integrates data from multiple sources to prepare unified datasets for advanced analytics, including prescriptive and predictive modeling.
  • Identifies and addresses data quality issues proactively, analyzing datasets to detect anomalies, uncover trends, and correlate related data sources.
  • Diagnoses and resolves technical issues, applying root cause analysis and implementing effective solutions to maintain data integrity and pipeline performance. 

  

Your Experience and Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Information Technology or equivalent certifications.
  • Analytical software/language skills (Python, R, SQL).
  • Distributed big data processing frameworks (Spark, Kafka).
  • Experience with cloud and data related components such as AWS Glue, Athena, Step Functions, Lambdas, Redshift, RDS, Databricks, etc.
  • Reporting & Visualization tools (Tableau)
