Job Summary

The Director of Supplier Quality is responsible for leading AGCO's global supplier quality strategy, performance, and continuous improvement initiatives across the supply base. This role drives world-class supplier quality performance through robust APQP, PPAP, supplier development, supplier performance management, and supplier warranty recovery processes. The position is accountable for reducing supplier-related quality defects, warranty exposure, production disruptions, and cost of poor quality while enabling successful new product introductions and strategic sourcing initiatives.

A critical focus of this role is developing supplier capability in low-cost countries, improving supplier readiness for new product launches, and driving consistency of supplier quality systems and execution across all global regions. The Director will partner closely with Procurement, Engineering, Manufacturing, Product Integrity, and Regional Quality teams to improve supplier performance and ensure suppliers consistently meet AGCO's quality, delivery, and reliability expectations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute AGCO's global supplier quality strategy, aligning quality performance with business, sourcing, and operational objectives.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing global Supplier Quality organization, driving a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
  • Drive supplier quality performance through effective supplier development, performance management, corrective actions, and risk mitigation programs.
  • Enhance supplier capability across global sourcing regions, including India, China, Southeast Asia, and Eastern Europe, with a focus on manufacturing readiness, APQP, PPAP, and quality system maturity.
  • Lead supplier quality activities supporting New Product Introduction (NPI), ensuring robust APQP and PPAP execution, launch readiness, and defect prevention.
  • Partner with Global Procurement, Engineering, Manufacturing, Product Integrity, and Regional Quality teams to improve supplier performance and support strategic sourcing initiatives.
  • Establish data-driven supplier performance management processes to reduce supplier defects, disruptions, warranty exposure, and cost of poor quality.
  • Drive supplier warranty recovery programs and ensure supplier accountability for quality-related field issues.
  • Lead strategic supplier improvement initiatives focused on quality, reliability, process capability, and operational performance.
  • Support category and sourcing strategies through supplier capability assessments, quality risk analysis, and supply base improvement roadmaps.
  • Build strong relationships with executive supplier leadership and key internal stakeholders to deliver sustainable quality improvements across the global supply chain.

  • Reduction in supplier quality defects (PPM) and manufacturing disruptions.
  • Improved APQP and PPAP effectiveness and launch quality performance.
  • Increased supplier capability and quality system maturity.
  • Improved supplier scorecard performance and corrective action effectiveness.
  • Enhanced supplier warranty recovery and reduced cost of poor quality.
  • Strong execution of supplier development and supply base improvement initiatives.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, or related field required.

Experience

  • 15+ years of progressive leadership experience in Supplier Quality, Manufacturing Quality, Product Integrity, or Supply Chain Quality.
  • Demonstrated success leading global supplier quality organizations.
  • Experience with APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, MSA, Control Plans, and Root Cause Problem Solving.
  • Experience driving supplier development programs in low-cost countries.
  • Strong background in supplier performance management, warranty reduction, and supplier recovery.
  • Experience supporting complex global manufacturing and new product introduction environments.

Preferred Certifications

  • ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE)
  • ASQ Certified Manager of Quality/Organizational Excellence (CMQ/OE)
  • Six Sigma Black Belt
  • IATF 16949 Auditor Certification
