About the Role
AGCO is seeking a Senior Manager, Engineering, EFG India to establish and lead a new engineering organization in Pune, India. This strategic leadership role will be responsible for building and scaling a high-performing engineering team that supports AGCO's global Electronics, Software & Functional (EFG) Engineering organization.The successful candidate will drive engineering excellence across electronics, software, electrical systems, model-based engineering, digital engineering, and emerging AI-enabled development practices while collaborating closely with global teams across Europe, North America, and South America.This is a unique opportunity to shape AGCO's future engineering capabilities and create a best-cost global engineering hub that delivers innovative and scalable solutions for next-generation agricultural machinery.
Key Responsibilities
Build & Scale Engineering Organization
- Establish and grow AGCO's Electronics, Software & Electrical Engineering team in India.
- Define organizational structure, capability requirements, and workforce plans.
- Lead recruitment, onboarding, talent development, and succession planning.
- Foster collaboration with global engineering teams across Europe, North America, and Brazil.
Engineering Leadership & Delivery
- Lead end-to-end development activities across electronics, software, and electrical engineering.
- Drive engineering execution aligned with AGCO's product development system and V-cycle development methodology.
- Ensure delivery excellence, quality, and operational efficiency.
Model-Based & Digital Engineering
- Drive adoption of Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and Model-Based Design (MBD).
- Lead implementation of Digital Twin, simulation, and virtual validation capabilities.
- Establish modern engineering practices that improve quality and reduce development cycles.
Electrical & Software Systems Development
- Oversee software architecture, embedded software development, and electrical system design.
- Lead integration of electronic, electrical, and software systems into machine platforms.
- Support user interface development and advanced engineering solutions.
AI & Engineering Transformation
- Champion AI-enabled engineering practices across the organization.
- Identify opportunities to improve engineering productivity through automation and AI.
- Drive innovation in software development, testing, validation, and systems engineering.
People Leadership
- Build, coach, and develop a high-performing engineering team.
- Create a culture of innovation, collaboration, ownership, and continuous improvement.
- Establish performance objectives and development plans.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Becholer's Degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related discipline.
- 12-18 Years engineering leadership experience managing multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong experience in embedded systems and software development.
- Deep knowledge of:
- Software Architecture
- Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)
- Model-Based Design (MBD)
- Simulation & Virtual Validation
- Electrical Systems Development
- Experience establishing or scaling engineering organizations.
- Experience working in global, cross-functional environments.
- International collaboration experience with European engineering organizations is highly preferred.
Preferred Experience
- Building and managing engineering teams in India.
- Digital Twin implementation.
- AI-assisted engineering and software development.
- Complex electronics and software development programs.
- Agricultural, automotive, industrial equipment, aerospace, or heavy machinery industries.
