Job Summary:

 

The Country HR Leader – India serves as the strategic and operational head of Human Resources for the India region, acting as the primary representative of the HR function to employees and leadership. This role is accountable for the execution of global HR strategies within the local context, ensuring alignment with corporate policies while adapting to India’s legal, cultural, and operational landscape. The incumbent will lead a high-performing HR team, collaborate closely with local business leaders and global HR stakeholders, and drive initiatives across talent management, employee engagement, compliance, digital HR transformation, and operational excellence.

 

Job Responsibilities:

 

Strategic HR Leadership & Compliance

  • Ensure full compliance with Indian labor laws, statutory regulations, and internal policies.
  • Lead resolution of employee relations matters, including grievances and disciplinary actions.
  • Collaborate with global HR Operations and Payroll teams to ensure accurate and timely delivery of payroll, benefits, and HRIS processes.
  • Maintain strong governance and audit readiness across all HR processes.

 

Talent Acquisition & Onboarding

  • Partner with global Talent Acquisition and local leadership to drive strategic hiring initiatives.
  • Oversee onboarding programs that reflect local practices while aligning with global standards.

 

Performance & Talent Development

  • Support implementation of global talent management frameworks in partnership with HR Business Partners and Centers of Excellence.
  • Provide strategic coaching to people managers on performance development, succession planning, and career growth.
  • Lead local execution of leadership development programs and capability building initiatives.

 

Employee Engagement & Culture Building

  • Champion employee engagement initiatives that reflect global values while resonating with local culture.
  • Serve as a cultural steward, promoting AGCO’s mission, vision, and values across the India organization.
  • Analyze employee survey results and drive action planning based on feedback.

 

Change Management & Communication

  • Lead local execution of global change initiatives, ensuring contextual relevance and effective communication.
  • Act as a strategic liaison between global HR and local teams to ensure alignment and continuity.
  • Support organizational design and restructuring efforts in collaboration with business leaders.

 

HR Technology & Digital Enablement

  • Demonstrate proficiency in HR systems (e.g., SuccessFactors) and leverage technology to enhance HR service delivery.
  • Drive digital HR transformation initiatives to improve employee experience and operational efficiency.
  • Ensure data integrity and system accuracy in collaboration with global HRIS teams.

 

HR Analytics & Reporting

  • Maintain and analyze key HR metrics to inform decision-making and strategy.
  • Deliver actionable insights based on local trends and workforce data.
  • Present HR dashboards and reports to leadership with strategic recommendations.

Minimum Qualifications (if applicable include physical requirements to comply with ADA):

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related discipline (Master’s preferred).
  • Minimum 7–10 years of progressive HR experience, ideally within a multinational environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of Indian labor laws and HR best practices.
  • Proven leadership experience in managing HR teams and partnering with senior stakeholders.
  • Strong proficiency in HR systems and digital tools (e.g., Workday, SAP SuccessFactors).
  • Exceptional communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven ability to operate independently while collaborating across global teams.
  • Experience working in or supporting a Global Capability Center (GCC) is a strong advantage.
