Job Summary:
This position is responsible for managing India-based suppliers, coordinating material supply from India, and supporting production parts requirements for AGCO global plants. The role will follow up with India suppliers on delivery schedules, open orders, lead times, capacity constraints, and shipment readiness, while driving timely issue resolution and maintaining strong supplier delivery performance, particularly in OTD (On-Time Delivery). This position will also act as a key business-side support for SAP MM module activities and EDI connection-related initiatives involving India suppliers. The primary objective is to ensure a reliable, cost-effective, and high-quality supply of materials from India while maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction for AGCO global plants.
Job Responsibilities:
- Supplier Management:
- Establish and maintain strong working relationships with India suppliers, ensuring clear communication, effective collaboration, and timely issue resolution across time zones and business cultures.
- Collaborate with India suppliers and internal stakeholders to support supplier agreements, including pricing, lead times, delivery commitments, quality expectations, export readiness, and service levels.
- Material Planning and Inventory Management:
- Analyze production requirements, sales forecasts, historical demand, and MRP data to determine material availability requirements from India suppliers and support inventory planning for AGCO global plants.
- Coordinate delivery schedules with India suppliers, manage supplier lead times, follow up on open orders, monitor shipment readiness, and address constraints that may impact production continuity.
- Support inventory optimization by improving material follow-up, shortage prevention, shipment visibility, and supply planning related to India-sourced parts.
- Continuously review India supplier management processes and identify improvement opportunities related to cost, quality, delivery performance, lead time, export coordination, and supplier responsiveness.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including production, procurement, logistics, IT, quality, and global plant stakeholders, to resolve India supplier issues and ensure supply continuity.
- Proactively identify, escalate, and mitigate supply chain risks related to India suppliers, such as supplier capacity constraints, material shortages, export delays, transportation disruptions, and delivery slippages.
- Compliance and Documentation:
- Ensure India supplier activities comply with regulatory requirements, industry standards, export-related expectations, and AGCO procurement and supply chain policies.
- Maintain accurate documentation related to India-sourced material orders, supplier communications, delivery commitments, shipment status, and supplier contracts.
- Prepare periodic India supplier delivery performance reports and coordinate with the purchasing team to drive corrective and continuous improvement actions.
- Collaborate with the procurement team to support India supplier audits, monitor compliance, and follow up on corrective actions for non-compliance issues.
- Maintain accurate material master data in SAP for India-sourced parts and demonstrate a solid understanding of the underlying planning logic and business impact.
Required Qualifications / Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree or above in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
- Relevant experience in material planning, supply chain management, procurement, logistics, or supplier management, preferably with exposure to India suppliers, manufacturing, or global operations.
- Solid understanding of MRP, inventory management, supplier follow-up, production planning, delivery performance management, and long-lead-time supply coordination.
- Hands-on experience with SAP MM or related ERP systems; knowledge of EDI processes and supplier system connections is preferred.
- Strong data analysis skills, with the ability to use Excel and other reporting tools to analyze demand, inventory, India supplier performance, open order status, and supply risks.
- Good communication and coordination skills, with the ability to work effectively with India suppliers, global plants, procurement, production, logistics, quality, and IT teams.
- Strong problem-solving mindset and ability to proactively identify risks, escalate issues, and drive corrective actions.
- Good command of written and spoken English; ability to communicate effectively with India suppliers and global stakeholders in a business environment.
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities under time-sensitive conditions.
